Have you been overpaid?

I overpaid a guy 50 bucks once as a casino cashier, realised it as soon as he walked away. Security caught up with him and he gave it back no problem. He could have ended up banned but it was pretty clear by his reaction he didn't realise it either (most card players know exactly what their chips are worth, I paid out a 0.50 cent chip at 50.00$ ) It was the only time I ever screwed up....

I was once double paid by a casino. I contacted them and told them. I think it was for $200ish. They looked into it and just told me to keep it because of my honesty. I told them I will deposit the amount they overpaid me and put it on red and give them a chance to win their money back. They thought it was a fun idea. I hit red and cashed out again and they were still happy I won even more and that I was happy having fun.

I watched a streamer last night who by mistake pressed the max bet button for a euro40 spin whilst playing with a bonus. It cancelled the bonus immediately but it converted all of the money into withdrawable cash. The balance was much higher than the starting balance, so profit land so to speak.

The streamer contacted live chat and was told it was all good and he could withdraw. Whether that was an error on the part of the chat operator is unknown, but it paid off being honest and report it.

If i was him i would not cheer at this point, its still very possible that whole amount exluding his deposit goes back to the casinos pocket even though it was an error to spin above the max bet allowed. I mean the casino might investigate these things....

I know a few casinos where if you accidentally bet above the max bet when using a bonus it puts your balance back to the deposited amount, and thee is no way of getting your balance back to where it was, so you have to be careful to not bet above the max, for example flamantis. I mean i have nothing bad to say about them but thats just the way bonuses work there, and on some other net-ent casinos ....

Regarding the op question, yes i have been paid something extra actually in a few occations, and i think i have reported it back to the casino (atleast most times), i transfer so much money between casinos its sometimes hard to notice being overpaid if its nothing major, but i tend to report these back. The reactions from casinos who have overpaid have been following:
1. Keep the money thanks for reporting.
2. Please pay back the money we overpaid you.
3. If you don't pay the money TODAY we will lock your account, and report you to neteller ... or something along those lines. (did not play there much after this).

I think if one is overpaid reporting these depends much on how the player is doing financially. I mean if a guy gets overpaid by a few hundred dollars, and he is dead ass broke, ofcourse he/she won't report it. If the player can afford it, then the moral compass comes to action.

He has now confirmed the monies were received.

I won't name the casino because it certainly is open to abuse. It looks like an error with their software because deliberately voiding a bonus when you're up and keeping the winnings is surely not meant to be.

I have been playing online now for 8 years and haven't been overpaid once that I am aware of. If I was I would of course notify the casino at once because in situations like this and you don't it is bound to come back and bite you in the ass. At any rate it is the right thing to do.

I have been overpaid by grocery stores countless of times and each time I pointed it out to the cashier and felt good about it even if I didn't get a nice thank you from the cashier more times than not.

I haven't been in a landbased casino since my visit to Las Vegas many years ago and most of the time there I was drunk so I doubt I would have noticed if I was being overpaid or not.:D

Now if I found a wad of cash not attached to a wallet or any I.D. I don't think I would be saintly enough to try and find the rightful owner but would probably keep it. Luckily for me that scenario has never come up so my morals are in tact... for now at least anyway:p

I've never been overpaid from an online casino. I was paid a months salary for nothing once when I was unable to take part in a new venture for the first month due to dealing with the loose ends with the job I was leaving. I informed the head of payroll who was also a friend and he just told me to shut up :D

I once lost 10$ on the way back from lunch to a school I was working at as an artist.
At the end of the day when I was at the office signing out...I told the secretary I lost 10$ On way back from lunch...she looked at me......apparently a little old lady came in after lunch with 10$ saying she found it at the corner of the school... she figured someone from the school had lost it....the secretary told her it would be impossible to know who lost it if anyone at all from the school...old lady told her to put it in fundraising box....so she handed over the ten dollars to me and I was happy to have it back and amazed at the honesty of this lady....I then went to Starbucks and bought coffee for her and other secretary in the office with the ten dollars....off topic a bit but a good story...

I once played at Mariacasino who back then in 2009 was just a bingosite. I got a 100% bonus, played and lost and then later the same day I got the same amount of bonus again.
I was happy, played and lost that too. A couple of days later I got an email telling me I had to pay that bonus back.

Did I do that? No, not a chance. Instead I asked them to close my account and never looked back.
You might say I was dishonest but I didn't have much clue back then how it worked and just thought they were nice. Couldn't dream of having to pay back a bonus.
Today I would ask where the money came from of course, but these kind of things is good to remember when new players mess up.

Now Mariacasino is owned by Unibet who now owns 32Red too. I wonder if they do some crosschecks of accounts :D

I was overpaid at 7 Sultans casino. Very small amount. There was a paigow poker game where the house set the hands incorrectly leading to a push when it should have been a win for me. After mush tussle, some lying and possibly some misunderstanding the casino relented and paid me double of what I should have won. I notified them and they deducted the overpaid amount from my balance though they gave me a free money for the hassle.
