I know there has been a few posts about people quitting gambling, but this is sorta different I guess.

Has anyone stopped gambling ONLY because of the problems depositing and waiting forever to receive your money?

I wanted to do a poll, but I wanted to hear people talk about it.

If you did stop, how hard was it? And do you miss it?

For me...I'm thinking about cutting down because it takes so long to receive money, I usually reverse the cashout. So far I can usually deposit with no problems *knock on wood* lol

I've had that problem where the casino deliberately take ages for anyone to cash out but they instantly allow deposits, bet365 are notorious for making someone wait 2 or 3 days before they finally cashout. Its mainly the primary reason why I've stuck with betfair and betvoyager so far, they don't use this practise.

I cut down at RTG's and MG's for the simple reason that I cant seem to win anymore. Ive had a bad streak at 3dice too and got rid of all my rivals.
So Im down to one new RTG and 3dice. I havnt even made a deposit at the new RTG.

For me, depositing and getting paid are not the problem, its winning

depositing too might become a problem....if you never win:rolleyes:
The problem its called :shortage of funds

Went cold turkey for a full year when the NETeller chit hit the fan. I hung out here just like always, I just wasn't playing. If a casino hit me with a no deposit bonus, I'd play (and lose).

I missed it at first I guess, but I was so mad about the UIGEA and NETeller and all that stuff that I spent a lot of time trying to keep up with what was going on. Now, I pretty much stay busy with other hobbies.

When I started playing again, I got back in slowly, one casino at a time, and with small deposits. I've seen no reason to increase my deposits. Can't hit anything, can't even get playtime for my money so I've already cut back even more to playing only occasionally. It's a PITA (and costly) to get money to and from the casino -- especially when it's mostly 'to' the casino and nothing coming back. Soon, I'll be on the sidelines again. If it's not fun I'm not doing it. And the piss poor amount of 'fun' I get out of my deposits is convincing me to step back even further.

Being from NY I have a very hard time depositing. I play the free tourneys at MG'ing casinos and 3Dice. I've actually won some at 3Dice and a few kind folks here have gifed me some free money there.

So to answer your question...I miss it so much but I know when I get home I can still "gamble" so to speak!

I haven't stopped and have been doing pretty well. No problem depositting and as far as it taking too long for a cash out. If the casino is not one to do an overnight withdrawal (ie: inetbet) then I request that they flush my account (regardless of how small my win is.. cause I will cash out as low as $50 to quicktender if I don't see a positive session at a casino:thumbsup:).
So far when I request a casino flush my account it is usually in my quicktender within 24 hours of my request. :)

I deposited $200 this weekend and it was gone pretty quick, my husband said to me "your done already?" He even noticed the different lately and he's not a gambler.

I hate waiting the 24 hours, then on weekends you have to wait allllll weekend because they don't do business on weekends  it's just becoming annoying instead of fun. Not all casinos, but a lot of them.

Believe it or not Bodog used to by my absolute favorite, but waiting 2-3 months to get paid!!!

Free tournys at MG suck for me, I always come in around 200th place...lol...and the few lucky times I have been in the money, I never get anything cuz there are buy-ins and I just get passed. Why do they let you play past the time with buy-ins anyway

3Dice tournys are worse...I won a few when I first joined but haven't won since then. (and sometimes I play A LOT of them) Sometimes I can tell who is going to win just by looking at the names of who is playing, I am almost always right. I bet a penny with my husband...lol, or I am in first and in the last few minutes I get passed...I think I am the unluckiest person here. :D

i have slowed down due to personal reasons(family medical reasons) and with how the economy is going , its better to put that money back for a rainy day and or feed the family instead of the casinos, i still play but nowhere like i used to and im content with that, never was a problem getting my money or depositing, just i needed to slow down (alot), but you can still have fun low rolling on smaller deposits and so far its been fun.........laurie

Hmm... A pretty obvious point really, as for me this is one of the main reasons I do not wager large amounts online anymore. Loving to gamble, and having problem to stop sometimes being able to cash out quick is really the only way to have some sort of control. Say I deposit $500 and after a while I get back to $500 - what's the reason withdrawing at all since you have to wait a week?

This means I am the perfect customer, since I need to win atleast $1000 to even consider withdrawal. If I could do instant cashouts with Visa I would sure wager much more online - however I do not think the industry is interested in this since this fact is probably one of the reasons they make so much money. People like me try to catch the losses, and reversals are truly eval!

So yes - maby not the only reason - but surely one of the top ones!

I've tried in the past to get them to flush my account and everytime I talked to a rep they told me it would be impossible...how do you get them..are you a past high roller?

Quit the day Neteller stopped taking US

...and haven't been back since. Obviously I miss it or I wouldn't bother reading this forum or posting occasionally. I may in the future seriously consider it again but right now after reading the gyrations that US folks have to go thru to deposit, fees charged, etc., it's just not worth the effort.

I will confess that the Indian casino across the border in Oklahoma has seen me a little more than before... I just love 3 card poker :D But trips about every six-eight weeks.

I never really had problems with depositing or getting paid. Still, I've drastically cut down my play especially with Microgaming casinos because they definitely changed the game for me because I won too much from them. I guess I'm waiting for the day when all the other online casinos that pulled out of US come back or for the US land-based casinos to put out their online versions.

No! I'm no where near a high roller and never have been! (I wish...lol;))
All you have to do is write to support or the casino manager and I believe they are required to honor your request. (I always have to write to Fortune lounge to flush my account.) Inetbet it's not even needed.. it's always there the next day. :)
But I am talking about withdrawals to QT. I have not yet been fortunate enough to win a large amount from fortune lounge (yes..pun intended!).. I have faith that my day is coming soon though!;)

But my deposits are alot less than before also. I used to deposit alot at 3dice but since I only play tourneys there now I have noticed that I have alot more play time everyplace else on small deposits!

I haven't played since sept 19th. except for a free $40 chip which didn't last too long. I didn't deposit anything after that was gone.

Waiting 2-3 months for payment is ridiculous! I wont wait longer than a week.
But I absoultely love playing - better than other forms of relaxation for me

I have my cashouts at Club World and Slotocash flushed too. Villento is the only MG I play at and they don't flush but they pay within 48 hrs. except on weekends.

I think what you have to do if you are in the US is play at casinos that pay quickly. There are quite a few left for us that are reputable. Have to be an informed player now both about depositing and withdrawals.

yeah villento was the only mg I played and they are the ones who always denied to flush.

Well, the original question was if slow withdrawals had kept me from playing on line.

The answer is no, but I've never had to wait more than 2 weeks.

I prefer not to use an e-wallet, there just seem to be problems involved with all of them, at least occasionaly.

And any casino that took 2-3 months to pay me would not have my business again.

I'm just as glad my money is not available within minutes to deposit in a different casino. I don't mind waiting for a cheque.

Do all casinos still have the pay by check option? I get a little worried about a check, you hear so many people having problems with them bouncing.

Is it different because you are in Canada verse USA?

2 weeks isn't bad at all to wait for a check. Now I just have to hit something so I can wait the 2 weeks :D
