Just Curious...In your opinion, What's the greatest comeback ever in NFL History...
I would have to say the Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Oilers on Jan.3rs, 1993... A 32 point comeback VICTORY!!!!

that one takes the cake no doubt but a few years ago, on sunday or monday night, the colts were down 21 with 4 mins. left against the bucs. they wound up winning in ot. that was pretty impressive given the fact tampa had a tough d at the time.

Ironmike and I ALMOST agree...

The greatest comeback in NFL History is most definitely Bills related...it's gotta be the outcome of the OJ Simpson trial. What a COMEBACK! hahahahahahahahaha ooops.

(heehee) Cas:D

Reggie Miller's last 10 seconds against Spike Lee and the Knicks in the playoffs........since the Oilers are now the Titans, I prefer to not discuss although I have had the opportunity to discuss that game w/ Bruce Matthews who enters the Hall of Fame next Saturday and Hall of Famer Mike Munchak although Mike is quiet and it was really his lovely wife Marcie who told me the details.................there are so many especially in baseball, was it 14 1/2 games the Yankees came back from in August of 78? to get in the one game divisional playoff where Bucky Dent nails it...........Nicklaus pulled off some miracles............and I think Tiger in his attempt to win his 3rd straight US Amatuer was 5 or 6 holes down going into the back nine and then goes birdie crazy.........ESPN.com iirc has done a feature on this subject as well as NFL films for football and I remember the Bills/Oilers game was not first even in Football but 2nd or 3rd iirc.....Being a Gator, several years ago UF led FSU 28 to 3 with 12 minutes to go in the 4th, game ended in 31-31 tie as Bowden did not go for 2. Sugar Bowl rematch thereafter............

CORRECTION TO MY ABOVE POST

Actually, UF had a 28 point lead w/ 12 minutes to go in the 4th at 31 to 3. Caught error upon rereading......and IM since you r a Bills diehard, where would you rank this comeback

..........you can assure all the Bills fans who still do not get it that it was an illegal foward lateral so they can finally stop their bitchinnnn.....J/K...........what a day.

Unnghh! I saw that game, and I was almost in tears. It had absolutely nothing to do with that final touchdown (which looked like it wasn't good, but in review, it was a perfect parallel pass) by Tennessee. It had EVERYTHING to do with Doug Flutie not starting the game considering that the BILLS had no business being in the playoffs that year. In my opinion, that was Flutie's magical season, taken away by Wade Philips who felt that Rob Johnson (and his FAT contract) was the future of the team. Johnson actually had a fine game, but it was a crime that Flutie wasn't playing.

If you check out the BILLS losing streaks, point to Johnson getting the game ball. When you review the winning streaks, take note that it was Flutie who was getting the job done.

If this win was the greatest comeback I've seen in a playoff match-up (and it was), I would say that the Monday Night Football game where Joe Montana was with the Chiefs against the Broncos was the next greatest comeback (maybe better.. but it wasn't a playoff game).

Side Note: Is it just me, or could you just replace Mike Shanahan with Mike Krzyzewski? They look the same, and kind of react the same way. That last little bit has nothing to do with anything in this thread (sorry ).

Agreed, and there is no logical explanation to this day for sitting Flutie. No one really beleived it would actually happen regardless of the hype during the week before the game.

Actually, he had a decent 2nd half and unproductive 1st half.

I do not know if it qualifies as a comeback but the "IMMACULATE RECEPTION" deserves recognition.

SIDENOTE: When I was in Gainesville at UF, Shanahan became a very young offensive coordinator under the late Charley Pell after Shanahan broke all the Big 10 offensive records at Minnesota(Univ. of). One night 20+ years ago, I was at a nice bar in Atlanta named ELAN in the Perimeter Mall area of Atlanta. Was at the bar and somehow started talking to this guy next to me by himself. He introduced himself and I recognized him by name only, of course, with our UF ties. We hung out for awhile buying each other drinks and talking ball. He was extremely personable and a gentleman. I do not even recognize him now with that stiff, stern mug that he has now had for years.
