I got an email and it is the grand opening of grand mondial, which is a grand monaco casino clone. same colors, same games and in my email it had my grand monaco real money acct #.

That is strange. They are saying they are having such great success with monaco that they just opened this one with less requirements.

Im not buying it, especially because they have all of my info that was not consented to having

It's not a clone... it is Grand Monaco... changed their name to Grand Mondial. I think it was mentioned in an earlier email from Grand Monaco and also here on the forum.

Oops! Justplay you type faster than I do! LOL

Babs...here is the first part of their newsletter......

Welcome to the Grand Club Monaco Monthly Newsletter for August.

A big announcement

As of August 14th 2007, Grand Monaco will be branded and launched as Grand Mondial.

Mondial is the French word for "world", "worldwide" or "global" and perfectly reflects the casino's expansion into new markets around the globe. Whilst Grand Monaco is perhaps more Eurocentric than most, Grand Mondial will cater for and embrace a wide range of different markets.

Grand Mondial will retain all the features, traits and strengths that made Grand Monaco one of the most respected Microgaming brands in Europe, but will bring an even more impressive package to the market. Multilingual websites, software and support, market-leading games offerings, personalized retention programs and of course big wins should make Grand Mondial an instant favorite amongst players around the world.

I wonder if this change in name relates to the following statement on the GrandMonaco.com website. This statement was not present in archives of the page from last year.

"Grand Monaco is in NO way associated with the Principality of Monaco, nor ANY of the land-based casino operations located in that jurisdiction. Grand Monaco is an independent operation."

Yes it was a, ahem, "communication" from Monaco that prompted the name change. I think this has been discussed here somewhere.

It's not entirely unusual for big name land casinos to threaten online operations that "borrow" their brands - a couple years back there were a number of reports of threatened litigation from US casinos, followed by online name changes.

Credit where credit's due though - they were pretty quick off the mark with their advertising campaign!

Saw this on the back of a bus on my way to work yesterday...

(Sorry about the iffy image - driving & taking photo with mobile at the same time... :p)
