Ok, I started with a $ 40.00 deposit, now I'm up to $ 272.00 (all blackjack of course). My gut tells me to walk away. My competitive nature tells me I can win. The alcohol tells me to let it RIIDDDDEEE :D. I need a walk away betting amount. Even if I take it out I'll probably just put it back in. How do y'all decide when to walk away? (no i'm not an addict....i think....:eek2:)

On a side note: I realize I might just be talking to myself right now. It's what 3:30 in the morning over here. Not sure if people are sleep or at work.

WALK AWAY!!!!

At the very least, $250 out, and let the $22 ride - and STICK TO IT!

I read this way to late. I'm down to $ 9.00 bucks. :(

It kept going down and I kept chasing it like an idiot. What's worse is something was telling me I was being stupid.

I have a very good time to cash out system, think what you could do with the cash, my last good winning streak got me a new phone, work tools, cleared all my monthly bills and paid for my boys birthday presents (jeeez when will they stop bringing out these new gaming consoles? PS3 now lol, Xmas it was Xbox 360 etc).

I basically have a list of what/whom could benefit most from this cash i`ve just won, do I carry on and finance the guys at 32Red`s plush meals and champagne at the directors box over at Swansea F.C. ;), top up Enzo`s Ferrari fuel tank, sponsor Richard Branson for an around the world hot air balloon flight, or treat Rupert Murdoch to an illusive weekend`s gambling at his favourite land based casino, believe me, my family, home, me, come 1st every time ;).

 That's great - I love it!

Yea, I don't know why I didn't think about taking some out and living some in. For some reason I was thinking "all or nothing." It didn't even cross my mind to pull the 250.00 out and play with the last 20.00. I want to deposit again so bad but I think I'm going to call it for tonight before I get myself in trouble.

Cleveland, don't get mad....get even.

You just need to learn from the experience.

Set a cashout system and stick to it.

In my case, I always start with $50 and cash out when I get to $250 - $200 withdraw and $50 to "start again". If I lose that, its on to another casino. In that way, I know I have 4 more sessions when I receive my money.

@cleveland, we've all been there, so don't fret that you aren't the only one. As VWM and Nifty have stated, set a cash out target and stick to it.

Feel you!

Gha, I feel you !

Been there not one, not twice but 10 times atleast.

My personal rules for gambling (pretty much the same for online as for B&M).

It's all about control. That's why >>>> No alcohol -- especially during table games and VP.

Set a daily/weekly/monthly budget as to how much you're willing to put at risk. (Household expenses come first, then allow a smidgen of any left over for gambling.)

Set a cash out goal for each gambling session, and stick with it. (5 x starting buy in for VP and BJ, 10x for slots for me) If my goal is $250, I WD that and leave the game. Any bits over, I can play next day or week or whenever.

Never, ever go over daily gambling budget (no ATM or check cashing at the B&M, or redepositing online)

If I bust out, I'm done for the day. Next day, there's that day's budget/deposit to play with.

If I lose only what I've budgeted, no biggie. But if I redeposit and go over budget and lose that too... I mercilessly beat myself up over it, and since I'm not a masochist, I don't do that -- once or twice was all it took for me to learn not to do that anymore. LOL

Mousey's 2 cents. :)

P.S. -- Someone is going to say all that makes gambling boring... Not to me. Money management and betting strategy are all part of the game.

(Disclaimer: I haven't played online for 2 years and won't until depositing and withdrawing are more safe and sensible for USA players.)

Back In The GAME!

O yea. I'm back. Deposited 100.00 and up to 205.00. Time to let it RIIIIIIIIDE! Just kidding, I'm going to take everyone's advice and walk away while I'm back up. Just going to leave 25.00 in to play with.

Blackjack = :yahoo:

Hey Mousey. Everything you said makes sense to me, control doesn´t make gambling boring, although sometimes is really difficult to walk away and call it a day.

I personally always decide before I start a "session" what my limits are and try to stick to them, I find that if you don't have a previous plan it's difficult to decide whether to stop, continue or kill the computer. Oh, and no alcohol for me too, I always do stupid things if I'm drunk.. thank god I don't really like to drink much.

Hope you withdrew :) Don't feel embarrassed about losing the last lot. I do it all the time even though, similar to the great advice in the other posts, I too have cut offs. Unfortunately for me, I often ignore my own cutoffs :p

I like to walk away at double my deposit at least. If I deposit £150 and manage to get to £350 - £400, I will tell myself to withdraw @ £300. But I leave the balance there and just play on (although I'm very strong-willed and will always withdraw that £300 no matter what!).

Of course, if my balance goes up again to £450 - £500, I will set my withdrawal minimum to £400 (then £500 if it goes up more, etc).

I love the feeling of withdrawing when I'm well ahead. Perhaps it's a power thing? I like being in control, rather than sitting there and uncontrollably playing the entire balance back down again.
