Expired Promo Free Spins from Scrooge: 1950EUR CM Exclusive Slots Comp!

There are promos that are no more.
You're all cheating with that Santa's Surprise game. Those Bonus symbols are not a Free Spins feature, they are a 'Pick Me' feature that pays next to nothing. You need to get 3 or more scatter symbols to trigger the Free Spins bonus.

You should all be banned from the competition and be made to inflate the prize-pool by €200 apiece for the benefit of those good people who are willing to play by the rules and be honest and fair in these times of peace and goodwill 😀

Ho Ho Ho! Better luck next time 😜
Yes, I get that and it's obvious by the ease of which people get <10x. This is why we have the 5-screenie rule for any one game, because there's always going to be one shoo-in slot that comes to light, maybe more.

The comp was intended to be about crappy free-spins bonuses mainly, but the rules were expanded (as @Wait!What? quotes) to include other recognized triggered bonus rounds within the game for those who maybe played games not offering a true free games option for their triggers.

So as your image shows, it is a 'bonus' round albeit low-hanging fruit.

It's the season of goodwill, spread the love kinda thing so if forum members get an easy pass for 5 or their 25 entries to get a chance in the draw, then all's good from our point of view.

The real fun starts when people have exhausted their 5 'free shots' and have to work a bit harder for a ticket. Because with 25 tickets there's a significant chance of a cash prize.

Agree with Lemon and waitwhat. Those Santas surprise- wins should be voided from this competition. Those are not in the rules
It is a recognized bonus round though. So they count, annoying as they are. I will make an amendment to the rules as the comp mentions free spins but the rules actually state 'bonus rounds'. I think when writing that I simply used the free spins term because that's what the big majority of bonus rounds are.

I will straighten that out.

In support of @dunover here. These comps can be very hard to organise - to make them fair and enjoyable for everyone taking part. We put in contingency to account for anything that comes up, such as examples above where a certain bonus round is easier to achieve than many others.

As has already been said, this particular game will only get you 5 entries to the comp, you still need to get another 20 to reach your maximum quota.

So, my advice would be to take advantage of the game as others have and then that way you have nothing to worry about. For us to exclude the game just means more rules and more restrictions, which takes a lot of fun out of the comps IMO.

Yep, well spotted the entrants! Go and pick the low-hanging fruit, play your 5-entry joker from Santa Surprise 🃏🃏🃏🃏🃏

I think the 'surprise' here will be to Playtake when suddenly they notice people have actually been playing the awful game. They'll probably think it's because it's December and Christmas season.

The fun starts when you have to move on to slots more problematic where it concerns sub-10x bonuses or free spins. (Winter Bonanza excepted).

They will take it as some sort of validation sign that players love this game. Next month there will be 5 clones of Santa Surprise all paying out diddly squat in the feature 😂

3.

Santas surprise (lol)
5x

As the first to start the Santa Surprise bandwagon, I'll say I thought it was opportunistic, not exploitative. SS bonus round is triggered by 3 bonus symbols, goes to a new screen and at the end of the bonus lists basegame and bonus separately. It is a bonus even if it ALWAYS pays peanuts. I hadn't noticed the reference to free spins from the part outside the ruleset.

I agree mate, you used your savvy, we used ours by limiting entries to 5 per game. No problem, the rules did say bonus rounds, though we did anticipate in the majority of instances those would pertain to free spins hence they were mentioned at the top of the comp OP.

Mind you, you've now identified a Gamesys slot that appears to be equally as easy to sub-10x on but less frequent in the bonus trigger.

I dont really care if they are removed or not, but just like Shine i also did not think there was any possible rule breaking happening, just the picking of some very low hanging fruit.
I just assumed any bonus round would do, as long as its clearly not a part of the basegame.

A game i thought of that is more questionable was Fruit shop from Netent, speaking of low hanging fruit.
It does say it gives you freespins when you hit a premium symbol, and you do enter sort of a freespins round, but at the same time it is kind of also just the basegame with a 2x multiplier.
=)

Extra Chilli at Jackpot Joy just less than 4x.
Sorry!
  1. Slots must have a Christmas or Winter theme. Entries will get tossed out if they don't meet this criteria. If in doubt, check with @dunover or @conker before playing.

:(

Winter Bonanza would be OK, or Christmas Golden Catch Megaways but unless there's been a major advance of the Arctic ice sheet down into Mexico, this game doesn't qualify!

No, there was no rules being broken at all. The headline I wrote concentrated on FS as they are the big majority of triggered bonus types.

The detailed 1-15 rules underneath did expand this to triggered bonus rounds in general which would include pick-me ones if triggered by scatter symbols which in this case they are.

But to avoid confusion, I added that to the introductory text where it originally just mentioned FS.

For clarity, Fruit Shop would not qualify as it's an in-play feature not triggered by designated scatter symbols.

Nor would a Sh!tstorm on Christmas Thunderstruck 2 (if there was such a game) as it's a random in-play base game feature.

The reality is this competition format is really tough to get a substantial amount of entries(upto 25) so people will take the easiest/cheapest path.

I dunno, some have had 3 or so entries in 2 days on games other than S*nt* S*rpr*s* so would clear their other 20 in a couple of weeks, it runs for 4 more weeks mate!

All entered to this point and I swear I never, ever want to see this dumb stupid slot again.

Big shout out to @SCATT3R for being the only entrant not to use S*nt* S*rpr*s* yet!

(probably saving for his LAST 5 lol)
