VETERAN ONLINE GAMING SITE TO CLOSE ITS DOORS

Casino Domain calls it a day

Sadly just short of its tenth year of operations, the Net Entertainment powered and operated Casino Domain.com is to close its virtual doors on December 13.

The sign on the landing page this week advises:

"We regret to inform you that CasinoDomain management has decided to close the casino. CasinoDomain has been appreciated by thousands of customers over the years, but the new US legislation has made it impossible for CasinoDomain to continue.

"You will be able to withdraw all your remaining funds by logging in to the casino and selecting the withdrawal option you prefer. The casino will be open for withdrawals until December 13th, 2006. You will also be able to play with your remaining money if you prefer to do so. You will, however, not be able to deposit. "

The announcement is signed off by Casino Domain - Net Entertainment.

It's a sad end for a no-download online casino that has been around with very few hassles since 1997, always fast with the latest technology including mobile gaming. As a public company quoted on Sweden's Stockholm Exchange, Net Entertainment has enjoyed a good reputation with players and affiliates. As far as is known sister casinos CasinoEuro and Cherry Casino are to remain in operation.

The closure comes as something of a surprise, as the first half 2006 corporate reportage of the company indicated that whilst total registered players across Cherry, Domain and Euro were slightly down by 2 percent, the number of active players had grown by 14 percent.

Very classy way to close the doors, I personally didn't have any problems with Cherry when they closed the doors to us Yanks.

Very sad day indeed, Jeez' I loved the Net Ent. BJ.

 Giving credit, where credit is due. Instead of just bitching all the time.:what: :what:
