I use to play american but since European doesnt have the double zeros, it gives you a better edge albeit a small one but still better than not having any

I gave up playing roulette completely after losing an entire bankroll at betfred casino in the space of 20 minutes..1000 in 20 mins covering 10 numbers had one winning spin in 50 spins including the same number appearing 7 x in 10 spins so thought na no way time to give it up...lol...ironically i had worked my way up on slots from 200

No, slots are.
I play a system very similar to roulette martingaling, but on slots. This is much less risky & gives the chance of a substantial win.

If you're talking about just roulette, then yes - European.

This game has very high variance, i.e. you can win much money very fast, but in the same time you can lose it very fast
Sometimes I use flat-betting, sometimes I play progressions, sometimes "double or nothing" strategy, when you bet all your bankroll on one color, or dozen, etc. and PRAY
