Drinking games

4 Kings

For 4 Kings you will need:
1 deck of cards
2 or more players
1 laaaarge cup
and plenty of booze

Table layout
Place the large cup (king's chalice) in the middle of the playing table and spread the deck of cards around it in a circle

Play
Each player takes it in turns going counter clockwise to draw a card from the circle. Each card has a mini game related to it.

Rules
Cards drawn:

Ace is "Waterfall"- All players start drinking and cannot stop until the person before them has stopped. Whoever pulls the ace is the first one who may stop drinking.

2 for you- The player who drew the card assigns someone to take a drink.

3 for me- The player who drew the card takes a drink.

4 on the floor- As soon as this card is drawn everybody must scramble to touch the floor. The last person to do so must take a drink

5 for guys- All the guys playing must have a drink.

6 for chicks- All the ladies playing must have a drink.

7: Point to Heaven- The player that draws this card may, at any time until someone else chooses a 7, point to the ceiling/sky (usually stealthily) and the last person to point must take a drink.

8's for mates- Whoever selects this card from the circle may choose another player who must drink in equal proportions throughout the whole game. If one player has to drink then so does their mate.

9: Bust a Rhyme- The player who pulls the 9 must select one word (cannot be orange, silver or purple) and the following players take their turn replying with a word that rhymes with it. Play continues until someone cannot think of a word or says one that does not rhyme and must then take a drink.

10: A ship came to harbour- The player with the 10 card may choose a category that everybody must name a relevant part of. E.g. The category of colours has parts including yellow, red, blue, purple and so on. Makes of cars would include Nissan, BMW, Honda... You get the idea.

Jack: Rule Card- This is the most fun and punishes everybody with the most drinks. Whoever pulls this card can make ANY rule they like as long as the consequence for breaking it is taking a drink. Some good examples are "no swearing", "no questions", "no pointing", "only drinking with your left hand"

Queen: Question Master- The player who drew the Queen may ask anybody a question and if they reply with an answer then the player who answered must then drink. A good question is often "...whos turn is it?" often resulting in the majority of players answering you and your friends quickly becoming drunk and/or resenting you

King: The first 3 players to pull kings from the circle can pour as much or as little of their own drink into the chalice... But the player who pulls the last drink must drink it's contents.

Well that's it! :D It's pretty evil but looooots of fun. This is just one of the many variations floating around. Have fun!

I might have a couple from my student days to share :p

Twenty One (21)

Aim of the game is to simply go around in a circle with each player saying numbers in a series (eg: 1 -2 - 3). If you mess up, you drink and if you are the one to say "21" you drink.

On your turn you can either say:

 • One Number - Carries on in the direction it was already going (eg: if the play is going left and you say "14" the player to your left has to say a series starting with "15")
 • Two Numbers - Changes direction (eg: if the play is going left and you say "14, 15" the player to your right has to saya series starting with "16")
 • Three Numbers - Carries on in the same direction but skips a player (eg: if the play is going left and you say "14, 15, 16", the player to the left of the player on your left has to say a series starting with "17").

You always start with 1 and end at 21 or when somebody messes up (says a number when it isn't their turn, doesn't say one when it is their turn or says the wrong number).

The player who reaches 21 also gets to make up a new rule - such as all odd numbers are replaced by animal sounds. So it would go "Baaaaaaaa, 2, Moooooo" instead of "1,2,3"

Rules overwrite each other and it can get confusing!

Oh them good old drinking days

Queens & Jacks

Much like the game "Queens" with a few additions to make it more interesting-
not to mention much more intoxicating!

Shuffle the deck of cards. Spread them out so that any card can be
chosen. Youngest lady -or whoever you want it doesn't matter- goes
first by choosing a card.

The following tells what action should be taken by the chooser:

Ace - Pick any player to drink
King - All players drink
Queen - Ladies drink but if a lady picks a Queen, she gets to make
a rule. (e.g. "guy has to give a lady a compliment before he picks
his next card or he has to drink" -trust me, the rules only get
cheesier as the game goes on)
Jack - Men drink but if a guy picks a Jack, he gets to make a rule.
generally, the rules are to be made for the opposite sex to follow.
10 - 2nd person on right of chooser drinks
9 - 2nd person on left of chooser drinks
8 - All players drink chooser makes a rule (for any- or everyone)
7 - Person to right of chooser drinks
6 - Person to left of chooser drinks
5 - change direction
(i.e. from clockwise to counter-clockwise) everyone drinks
4 to 1 - the person picking the card drinks that many drinks.

rules last until all cards have been picked up and a new round begins.

Play continues to the left, unless a 5 -the change of direction
card- was drawn.

Game is more fun with 2 decks.

If you like to have many rules during one game, you can also allow ladies
to make rules when choosing Jacks in addition to Queens. Same with guys
picking Queens in addition to Jacks.

Another one...

The Which

This one is great because if you're well practiced at it, you can do whilst being quite intoxicated but a sober new player will suck at it!

Pick up an object such as an empty glass. Gesture towards another player and say:

"This is the Which"

to which they reply:

"The What?"

you say

"The Which"

and they say

"Ahhh, the Which"

They then turn to another player and start the process again, except this time when they are asked "The What?" instead of replying "The Which" they have to turn to the player who gave them the glass and repeat "The What?". That player will respond "The Which", which is repeated by the second player to the new player - like a chain.

So if you had a chain of 5 in the order player 1 - player 2 - player 3 - player 4 about to involve player 5 it would go:

Player 4 to player 5: This is the which
Player 5 to player 4: The what?
Player 4 to player 3: The what?
Player 3 to player 2: The what?
Player 2 to player 1: The what?
Player 1 to player 2: The which!
Player 2 to player 3: The which!
Player 3 to player 4: The which!
Player 4 to player 5: The which!
Player 5: Ahh, the which!

Players can be repeated so it could go player 1 - player 2 - player 3 - player 2 - player 3 - player 2 etc...

If you mess up, you drink!

And another...

Pub Rugby (or football depending on your country!)

This one is more active and is played either against one player or in 2 teams. Yo need to be sitting at a table opposite each other.

Pick up a coin - ideally a 50p or £2 coin (UK) or a quarter / dollar coin (US) - it needs to be largish.

You have three "finger kicks" to flick the coin so that it lands hanging over the edge of the table by your opponent. This is a goal and they have to drink.

You also get to try a field goal by spinning the coin on the table, grabbing it with your thumbs and then throwing it between your opponents arms (acting as the goal). If you make it they have to drink again!

When I was a youngster we used to have these all night parties - in the morning when it was time to get rid of everyone we'd do a drinking game. Turn on the tv and find the Smurfs. Every time they'd say "Smurf" everyone had to drink. They say "Smurf" a LOT on that show. Usually by the time the 1/2 hour show was done the party was over.
