Hi,

Just curious as to what everyone considers a big win with free spins.

I regularly play Quickspin slots and they tend to believe a win of 10x is a big win. 30x is a mega win. I tend to judge the value of the spins based on the regularity of the bonus. ie If I bet $5 per spin and the free spin bonus is $150 the slot acts like its an epic win but the reality is it can cost a fortune to get the free spins.

I tend to think anything less than 50x is pretty ordinary.

Am I being unrealistic?

I agree that 50 x is about right for me, alas, the game providers don't quite agree.

I think the big win flare / hype for anything 10x is all part of the strategy these days to give users the illusion they are getting monster hit after monster hit whilst quietly draining the balance.

Slot programmers must believe slotters are stupid to label 10x as big wins.

Even new players realize that it is just eye candy, especially when the multitude of big wins lead to the inevitable bustout!

It's not worth even hogging up my screen unless it's at least 50x, and even then it's nothing special.

Some games still treat 'big wins' as just that and let you know when you hit them, and that's when you automatically know it's over 100x straight away.

But I like the un-botched old 9-liners, there's no bells and whistles. Just a big amount of credits afterwards to let you work out for yourself that you just really had a big win!

I just hope that if/when DOA is updated to HTML5, they don't add any of this 'BIG WIN' shite.

Getting 5 scatters and just seeing my balance suddenly increase by 100's, Without any fuss what so ever. Is more satisfying than having to watch some 'BIG WIN' count up.

It's so much more tasteful

Just played razortooth. Betting $7.50 per spin. Won $84 in free spins and apparently its a big win.

They must think we are as thick as pig shit. I think its time to give up on QuickSpin slots!

The worst must be Big Time Gaming as the jewels start cascading for a win less than 2x bet IIRC. :machinegu

I classify big wins not just on x bet but also on bet size.

100x bet is still just a win for me unless i get it on a bigger bet in excess of 9$. Then it makes some significant difference to the balance.

Big wins only start at 150x bet on bet sizes between 4.50-9.00$ as the impact on my balance is much smaller.

Anything below that size i classify only wins above 200x bet as big wins.

Mega and Super Mega Wins start at double and triple the above numbers.

My biggest single win in monetary terms was only 850x bet but it happened on a 25$ bet. That for me was a super mega win :D
