Casinoshare U.S What will the software be?

Well, finished loading the games on CasinoShare US and it certainly loads faster than the worldwide MG's. However, no new games, zip, zero, nada!

I think you'll find it will evolve. There will be a lot of creases to iron out. I think it will just need to alll settle down and then you might see it grow. The stumbling blocks are as follows:

1) Branded game licences will probably exclude the US
2) Payment of progressives could raise a huge red flag and requires careful though.
3) Same for tournaments so they may need to make changes first.


It certainly looks as if this is a licensed copyright deal on the games, but I think the new software provider has missed a credibility opportunity by not identifying itself...and that extends to Kahnawake which has issued a licence and therefore approved the provider.

I imagine it's a lawyer thing, but I also believe it would have been better for both Microgaming and Casinoshare to have made a public announcement over and above the essential comms with players and affiliates - even if it was bland and anodyne it would be evidence of an openess on a commercial deal..

In the absence of a name, I'm probably going to dub it "Microgaming US" on my sites. Gotta call it something and that's nice and descriptive IMO.

I would imagine that if they are offering this form of MG to the US only market, that they will eventually have to open it up to new players. Afterall if it is only targeted to US and only former accounts for now, they would be limiting their player base a great deal.
So I just think that when all is said and done, the register new account option will be available for all US players. It only seems logical.
 
Logged on to CasinShare US today and it is in spanish, couldn't change it back to english, so called the casino to ask if there was a problem, they are working on it. But while I had the cs on the phone I did ask if they would be allowing new sign ups and he said yes, in the near future, but couldn't say when. They will also be adding games as time as they progress.
 
This is a complete mess!!!

Microgaming had a policy of NOT allowing operators to run both a Microgaming casino, and one from a different supplier, as sister casinos.

Intertops tried this, and suffered the consequences of MGS terminating their license (or refusing to renew it) for Intertops Green, after they opened Intertops Red on RTG to take on the US market. Royal Joker was saved by passing it to a subsidiary (unknown), and management to Jackpot Factory.

Now, we are expected to believe MGS WILL allow operators to have BOTH a Microgaming casino, AND this "new" option for migrating, and later accepting, US players.

The "new" software seems to be nothing more than an even MORE "crippled" version of the US variant with so many blocked games. HOW is this going to impress players, whose "grandfather rights" status has gone from bad to WORSE, with not only the loss of NEW games, but many of the OLD ones too! Players may leave on account of this further downgrade, and before there is any chance for operators to implement further games.

MGS have now made it IMPOSSIBLE for rogues such as Jackpots Heaven to be spotted by clever players. Jackpots Heaven was busted because it had "the look and feel of MGS", and "with many of the features and games players are used to". Now, if another rogue operator tries to rip off MGS content, players will assume this is simply the OFFICIAL "Microgaming US" variant. Rogue operators will therefore have the freedom to offer their own variants of "Microgaming US", and players will not really know who they are dealing with, because "Microgaming US" itself has only just been launched.

The other risk is that some of the US officials may actually have SEEN the various softwares, and will see that there is no real difference between "normal" MGS and "US" MGS, and make a note that MGS have simply used some covert means to break UIGEA but keep their corporate noses clean. This could adversely affect a later application for a license in a regulated US market.

There is one other thing PLAYERS need to be aware of. SOME games (even fewer for US players), have you save up to trigger a bonus round. With this migration, players will LOSE any such saved icons, as these will NOT be migrated to a new platform, even though their accounts will be.

What about NON US players, we have been told nothing, and what we want is to hear that this will NOT affect us.

When Grand Prive moved, EVERY player was affected, INCLUDING those from outside the US, who were migrated from MGS to a rather unknown software overnight without notice.

Hopefully, casinos that didn't take US players in the first place will stick with MGS, but others that were forced out might be interested, and may decide it is cheaper to have ALL their players on the one platform, thus paying only ONE license fee to ONE software provider.

Thanks Vinylweatherman for your post, very informative. I also agree with Nisobar as for the excitement of it. But then I also have apprehension of what ultimately this could/will mean for those of us in the US.
After playing pretty much all evening last night and off and on most of the day, I have been a little dissapointed in the fact that so many games have not migrated over as well and there are a lot of them and they're not blocked, they just aren't there. But they say they will be adding as they go, so maybe that's not a big deal.
But, the thing I do worry about, is if this is just a ploy to gracefully rid MG of an albatrose, which is the US players. Then once we have all been migrated into the new software, have the door closed on us permanently.
Really, until all things have come out in the open, regarding the laws and regs, many of us will not really know what will come of this venture and whether the US will still have an active place in a pastime that should be our right and our decision to enjoy.

A similar apprehension that I have had with EcoCard moving all US (and only US) customers to QT. Separated and culled out, we can then be lopped off like a rotten limb -- should the 'need' arise.

On a factual basis, this is a perfectly legal commercial agreement through which Microgaming has licensed the copyright for use of certain of its games to an independent third party - Betware.

But it doesn't take much imagination to link the Betware statement with the moves by Casino-share et al into the US market using this 'new' software, despite the fact that it is not identified in the download.

The mere presence of so many MGS games, and so many MGS operators going for it, when there have been no other licensing deals announced by the Isle of Man company suggests that this is all part of one initiative.

The fact that Betware appears to be a totally distinct and independent company from Microgaming suggests that it will be free to enter into provider arrangements (including the US) with any online operator it wants to (assuming there are no restrictions in the games-licensing agreement with Microgaming)

It's a whole new ball game that effectively could take MGS out of the US equation, leaving the risk to those operators prepared to accept it and - possibly - the new software provider.

And as Mavin1 suggests, if MGS were then to decide to cut all ties with the legally troublesome and risky US market, it's operators will have already migrated all US players to the new software, leaving MGS free and clear.

Actually, this is excellent news. This gives players the opportunity to participate with some very well run operations.

I noticed from reading the Red Flush PR, where they list all the games, that there are some notable absentees. Now obviously the "brand" games like Hitman and Tombraider I can understand that - the licences will probably have a nosub-licensing clause - but Thunderstruck I and II, Spring Break and a few others are missing which doesn't make much sense??

Yes, at this time there are a lot of games missing, but when I spoke with cs the other day, he did say they would be adding games as they develop. I hope so, as many of my fav's are missing.
But other than that, the play was exactly the same as playing at MG, the look and feel is the same. The deposit methods are also the same, haven't tried the withdrawal as I played my money out.
But for those US players that haven't been able to enjoy MG, I think it will be great when they do open the sites up to new accounts and give US players a choice they haven't had prior. Wish all the other brands that left us would have done something like this.
So excitement and apprehension is running high right now.

This means they have tried to find a balance between games that are popular with US players and those more popular elsewhere and do a licensing division with that in mind.

What concerns me is whether this will affect non US players in any way.

Initially, I thought the operators would ditch MGS altogether, and not only US players, but ALL players would find themselves with a new software suite, as happened with Grand Prive.

Now, it seems we won't be affected at all, but the new product is ALREADY so similar to MGS that it isn't going to fool anybody that has ever played at an MGS casino. The fact that merely logging into an existing Viper client will automatically update this to the new software makes this VERY connected to MGS, hardly enough for them to claim this is "arm's length"

There is also the matter of promotions. With the player base split between US and non-US, there will have to be a splitting of promotions, especially of the sort where you wager for prizes. The result will surely be a reduction in the prizes, since the total fund will need to be split between 2 platforms. This might put off players, who will see this as a halving of the value of said promotions.

I see no reason why the new variant cannot introduce it's own multiplayer tournaments in time, this is NOT something exclusive to MGS, and different games & formats would ensure the two products remained different enough.

There might be a problem with licensing the games to online operators AND state lotteries though, since one outlet for the games will be seen as "illegal", and might cause embarrassment for state lotteries offering the SAME games, yet saying they are LEGAL when THEY offer them.

It does mean that MGS have lifted the restriction on operators that didn't allow them to use more than one software, otherwise it would be plainly obvious that BOTH softwares were "Microgaming" if it is claimed the restriction is still in place.

I am surprised MGS went to all this trouble to migrate a player base that only a couple of months ago their CEO said was "no longer commercially viable".

The fact that US players are NOT simply going to be shut out overnight as I predicted is great for them, BUT I am still uneasy about all the contradictory statements, and dark dealings that have been a feature of the last couple of years between MGS, operators, and US players.

I still think MGS have done this because they feared a mass exodus of operators to other brands if they were to simply shut down US players on June 1st, but the timing of this mass migration DOES suggest that this had been the plan all along, to ditch US players by some means on or before June 1st.

Added to this, was the sudden ending of the Red Flush Lara Croft promo for "unforseen circumstances". Well, now it is OBVIOUS, the migration of the US player base to the .net variant would freeze them out of further rounds of the event, and cause much discontent because no US player could win the main prize (there being NO Tomb Raider slot in the US variant, along with the problem of tracking scores across two platforms).

I would expect Red Flush to bring out a split promotion for the summer, maybe brought forward so that US players have an incentive to play with the new software, as well as give non US players something to fill the unexpected vacuum created by the early end of the recent promotion.

It remains to be seen whether non-US players see any difference because of this.
 
Does anyone have a list of MG casinos that are/have switched over to this new software? I can only play at Royal Joker, but haven't received anything from them yet, so I was just wondering which casinos these were. And if a player had accounts at these other MG casinos before the UIGEA went into effect, would the player be able to have an account reopened now? I had several accounts with different MG casinos, but had the door slammed shut in my face before the UIGEA went into effect.

As a major industry company I'm sure MGS has its own sources of US legislative info; whether that tells them stuff the rest of us don't know about yet is open to conjecture I guess.

Smart companies leave as many options open to themselves as they can, so that they can make the optimum moves in response to the ever-changing business environment, and my guess is that this is what is motivating Microgaming management.

switching to all slots will not allow for that..

i should have known something was going on when royal joker stopped accepting my cc...so i deposited through intertops and transfered it to royal joker...now intertops sportsbook is not accepting my cc. ... so i had to deposit to rj through qt...but i dont always want to deposit 50.00

I'm a go with the migration! I would rather play less MG type games for now than be stuck with only Rival and RTG, Blahhhh!!!! :p

Besides, I feel confident that more games will be added or developed as things progress. It is actually going to be exciting to see it grow.
 
I just got my allslots notice of the migration today. so some micros are giving us to other migrating micros because they (Royal Joker for one) will be dropping us totally. And it looks like my all time favorite is leaving not migrating. well that's just a bunch of poop cause I worked hard for that VIP status. :rolleyes:
 
Well, so far, I've only heard from 3 or 4 MG about this 'migration'. In the end, I guess it doesn't really matter as they're all MG and they'll all be hobbled software, and we all probably log into the same server/game regardless of casino name...

It would be nice to have a list, once things are more settled, of those casinos that have made a USA casino, and those that just shut us out. Since I only have two or three installed it's a bit much to reinstalled just to check to see if it redirects to a USA only casino.

Oh! Just a thought... do we lose the flash/online casino capability? bet we do... dang....

I'm keeping a running list - I'll post it here when everyone has made their announcements but no point in doing that while it constantly needs updating really.

I played up to 8 casinos at once for the BJ tourney on the original software.
That was using 1 Computer with 2 monitors, AMD Athlon Processor running Win XP Pro. I could fit 4 casinos on each monitor set to 1200 X 1600 resolution. :cool:
It was fun playing with all of you. Hope to see you in the future. (except antnik and mnstr) Loved hating you guys. Antnik must have at least 4 computers, to play so many aliases with the new software.

Just wanted to post an update on my $800 withdrawal from CasinoShare US, put in for it on the 05-21 and it is in my bank account this morning, 05-27. For me this is the typical wire transfer time I have always had at MG casinos, so I am pleased with this.
Just glad it wasn't the 21 business days I thought it was going to be.
 
My last holdout was Grand Hotel...I was having a nice winning session on VP & I got knocked off and when I went to log back in the message said I was locked out. I call CS and they said they were doing "maintenence" & I could log back on in a few hours. No email or other notification came from them. Grrrr oh well I knew it was going to happen but to just dump me like that! I feel so cheap LOL
