My intention is not to frame anyone, (at this point) I just want to share some thoughts and need some answers and your point of view of this. If needed i can provide screens from emails etc.

I recently sent a bunch of e-mails to casinos asking to be self-excluded/blocked from their sites since im gambling addicted.

The Casinos where i had an account did their job well and blocked me, providing me with useful links ect.

Some casinos said i didn't have any account with them, BUT they will add my details into the system and block me from creating accounts with those details.

And some of the casinos answered "As you have no account registered in our system, we are unable to take any actions."

A little unsure but in total around 30% of the casinos i asked couldn't assist me and help me with the block. Why?

Laziness?
I guess an answer could be that they use different systems ect or something, so maybe they really cant help?

I did also email Everymatrix On Mon, 31 Jul about the same thing, they answered 2017-08-01:

"We have permanently blocked your account.

Regards,

EveryMatrix Self Exclusion Team"

Great! Now i got blocked from pretty many casinos just with one email!?

Fun fact:

One of the casinos that told me they couldn't help me block my details, but using or runs by everymatrix, not sure how it works. Either way I wanted to try if the block worked.

1. I registered myself at the casino, (2017-08-01 22:18) no problem.
2. Try make a deposit, no problem,
3. played a bit ( stupid me i know ) then after a while when i was even i managed to make a withdraw. Half day later i received my money.

How am i suposed to block myself when it seems like it doesn't work? Shouldn't i been blocked already at signing up?
Am i missing something here?

Please feel free to add in with answers or thoughts about my post.

It's great that you close your accounts where you have one, but if you should try to be blocked everywhere then it will take a lifetime just to find all casinos.
I suggest you drop that and focus on staying away from casinos, gambling and forums like this where you can be tempted.

Have you stopped playing? Do you want to quit? What are you doing more to stay away? That's a lot more interesting since it's only your willpower who decides if you will continue to play or not.
Since you're from Sweden there are a lot of help if you want, and you can pm me if you don't know where to turn.
I wish you the best of luck!

Interesting reading that.

I am in the process of taking a break due to a recent major purchase and therefore do not have any 'available' playing money due to increased monthly financial burdens. Being sensible, I took a break via SE at all casinos, except for one independent site just so I can have a controlled dabble once in a while.

One casino which responded quite oddly to my polite e-mail request to close my account due to taking a break from gambling, whereby they said as I had been playing without any bonuses, they will give me $150 (with quite a low WR) to carry on playing there and to keep my account open! Hmmmm, naturally I took their kind offer, but really wanted my account closed!

Everymatrix and it's licensees may be amount the worst reputable casinos for the self-exclusion issue to be honest.

UKGC has rules in place that only applies to the UK, and the Maltese and other licences don't have to adopt UK standards, although some do, and you will not be afforded the same levels of protection.

Kudos to you for trying to be proactive in stopping or limiting your play. I'd suggest cutting off your deposit methods as part of your solution.

Take a day you will not be tempted to deposit, open and immediately self exclude for some of those 30% of casinos that said can't do it without an account. Get a friend or family member over to keep you on track even while you do so.

Tirilej is very nice, pretty wise and very experienced, and from your country, so she means it when she says she will help.

I hope it's fine with you, but I've reported your post and asked that you be placed in the quit gambling part of the forum. You won't see the big wins offers and things that may make it harder to remember why you are choosing the path that's right for you.

But there's a quit gambling section, and you can PM members.

Yes there is to many casinos to handle but if i could blocked myself from the most common ones, i hopefully get control over my impulse and activating my brain normally meanwhile and get a hold of myself.
Its not a solution but more like a helping tool, a delaying one.
And yes i have quit playing, like 200 times:) The hard thing is not to start again hehe. But i came to this point where i am now and i want and needed to quit. Have been away few months from it now except from the little gambling i did when testing if the block was working.

What i did was, i felt i had to quit, as many other times But now i really.. i mean really needed and felt and understood i had to stop. My life or gambling.
Its tough to leave something you love. ( and hate ) But you have to stay away.
Its also hard to ignore gambling these days, adds on internet, bus stops, TV, newspaper etc. its literally everywhere all the time.

I dont think there is any easy solutions like blocking accounts, blocking trustly, change credit cards and scratch the security numbers ect there's always ways for anaddict to get past all that it if you really want.
Maybe legal guardian who manage all your income can help but the thing is that you have to decide to just stop. Its impossible if you don't want to i guess.

I stick to the casino complain section then i wont get tempted :D

Thank you for reply and i might send a pm if i feel i need some more info and support.

That cant be allowed from a casino to take advantage and use a players situation like that, when requesting to close the account. Really bad behaviour.

Sounds very messy indeed, so even if i wanted to frame someone i would be totally lost in that jungle of rules and standards.. and probably i would be proved being wrong in the end. Just felt wrong being able to create and deposit, withdraw when i think i should been blocked,. And even asked the casino to block me since im addicted.

Good ideas, Im going to ask by brother to help me exclude myself from these casinos that (w)couldn't help me.

I do not know the rules very well, but maybe its only when asking for account being closed duo gambling problems they cant or are allowed to offer bonuses etc?
Morally they shouldn't either way, but sadly there's no limits for some people when trying to earn money.

To be honest, I'm surprised you got paid at all, and not just your deposit refunded.

And as you are outside the UK, had you lost, they have no obligation to pay you back your deposit.

It's great that you have a brother you can be honest with and will help you. Makes a huge difference for people, and know that we are here for you too as best as we can be.

You might want to open up a new email account, send a mass email to non-casinos you want to continue to hear from, and let your brother change the password and check if there's something important come through that one if he's willing.

It is ultimately down to you, but definitely easier if temptation is not there daily for you IMO.

Take a little time and read a bunch of threads in the Quit Gambling section. You will see horror stories that strengthen your resolve, and sucess stories that will give you hope. Insight that may better help you understand your own demons and motivations.

Sweden has a lot of resources, not something every country offers, so take advantage of them please.

Best wishes for your recovery.

Did you tell them you were just quitting, or quitting because of a gambling problem. It sounds to me that they just want to keep you as a customer and are unaware of any serious gambling issue.

@Jensa
Thanks for this info - it's both enlightening and helpful. Would you like me to place your account into the non-gambling group? You won't be able to see, post or participate in the gambling forums (when logged in), but will still be able to participate in the non-gambling forums and keep in touch with your fellow forum members. Please let me know.

Surely a request for an account closure should be done without questions asked or offers made to change that request? I recently closed my account at Videoslots (not because of gambling issues) and it was done almost immediately and without questions asked. In my opinion, that is what a good casino looks like.

My e-mail was worded:

Dear Sirs,

Please close my account with immediate effect as I wish to cease gambling online.

My user ID is xxxxxxxxx

Many thanks

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the games, sites and industry, but know viability for playing and more than likely losing would have more serious repercussions now than a couple of months back. Given an opportunity to play I probably would, but easier and reassuring to know that I can't (save for a selected one or two sites with deposit limits set).

Most casinos will, but then you have dodgy ones like Skill on Net who refuse point blank to close accounts, and tell you you have to self exclude if you want it closing.

Which casino was this? You can PM if you don't want the publicity.
