I've been lurking and reading this great forum for a good while, and thought I'd better start posting. If we all behaved like me the forum would be populated with no threads, postings, celebration, bitter recriminations, whining, yelling, laughter and of course information.

So how about some feedback on returns for Casino software type, not really the casinos themselves. I've been gambling online for 5 years or so, with mixed results. I'm no high roller, 50cent to 2 Euros on the slots per game, and 1 Euro on card games if I play them. I've taken a moment to recall my win/loses for the software types.

Real Time Gaming
Why, oh why, do I keep trying. I have never made a withdraw at a RTG casino. It does not help I see others filling their boots occasionally. The whimsical side of my brain imagines a 10k instant jackpot, the clinical realistic side warns me of yet another brutal fisting. The pattern always follows one of two paths. 1- Deposit, play one machine, lose all without a bonus round (or decent winline). 2 - Deposit, make very modest gains on 3-4 machines, then revert to option 1 (pick another machine lose everything without a decent pay line or bonus round). I always end up bored waiting for something (anything) interesting to happen, and start mashing the 'start' button to cut short the spin. The net result of this, of course, is my money lasts about 4 minutes.

It's uncanny how many times this has happened. The day I make a withdraw, the universe will implode before I get a chance to get my hands on the winnings. Thats how much God wants to deny me a win a a RTG casino. For the record I've played in Bodog, Cherry Red, Slots Oasis, Club Euro and a few more.

Rival
Definitely a hit or miss kind of software for a lot of people. I'm comfortably up at Rivals. I make many smaller deposits, but I've lost count of the number of times I've hit a real big pay line or feature and made a withdraw. Yes, the games can suck cash for long periods, but I'm of the opinion that a big win is always a possibility (not just a impossible goal, see RTG), with many of Rivals games. Many of the older slots have low variance (as opposed to the massively high of slots like Scary Rich etc), but can still offer a whopper of a win now and again.

I only now really play at Slotto, who as you all know are professional, fair and pay you out in a flash. I don't really bother with the others as I was Bonus banned after making a $300 withdraw at Irish Luck. The bonus I took was part of their opening offer (four stage bonus, I think I won on the second part), and the other parts of the opening offer were then denied. Pathetic.

Microgaming
My first online experience, I guess I can blame them for the whole sorry mess. I've no real complaints, I made many deposits and withdraws, still at a loss obviously. Some days you can trot along for hours, then withdraw with some winnings. The game choice is huge, which can be a downfall, as I'll try a game I'm unfamiliar with and bust out. Alternatively I'll end up playing a game I've never won on, and never will (looking at you cashapilla), and lose the deposit. All my big wins at MG are courtesy of the classics (Thunderstruck and clones etc).

Ladbrokes and 32Red are my prefered MG's. Flawless CS and payouts.

Wagerworks
Many deposts and withdraws (at a loss). Not too many games, too many that are a bit crap. I always feel you'll never get a big hit here, and your cash can fly out of the window real quick if you get a grumpy cleopatra. Even when I almost filled the screen with wilds on 'Elvis' I still 'only' got a 300 Euro return (on a 1 Euro bet). I feel if you get up a bit, then leave, apathy and boredom will lead you to one of the black hole slots, which will gleefully yum up your bank.

Paddy Power and Boylepsorts are always fair and professional.

Crypto
Never made a Withdraw, or maybe 1 I think. The games look great with a huge choice, but pair this with seemingly minuscule pay tables and almost improbable times for a bonus round. Again, I've seen people on here hit real good ones, but not me. I once hit the Hulk (the revenge one) for 50 free spins at x4, with 1 retrigger for 100 free spins in total (at 1.25 a spin). My net result was around 100 Euros (including the trigger bonus and retrigger). I'd of rather not even got the spins as for a brief moment, I thought I was going to finally have a win worth having. Turns out it was a huge joke on Mr Crypto's part, as once again he hauled out his cyber-member and unleashed a torrent of cyber-piss all over my monitor. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Only played at Intercasino.

Anyway, thats it, sorry for the massive post. I hope you'll all add your own histories. My last question is this - Historically, I win with one software provider above, I can prove this to myself from a tally of deposits/withdraws. Why do I play at the others again?

Have to say, that is one of the best first posts I've ever seen!

The way you summed up your experiences with the slots at those softwares is almost exactly what I would have said myself. It's good to know I'm not the only one!

One of the main things you picked up on was Rival software; many (not all) of their slots are low variance & give loads more bonus features than say... well any of the others you mentioned. You may not have a better chance of profiting (especially with the ludicrous WR terms some Rivals have ), but you generally get more "Bang for your Buck" IMHO.
Same with Grand Virtual software - have you ever tried it?
So how about some feedback on returns for Casino software type, not really the casinos themselves.
It would take me about an hour to extract all the current data from my spreadsheet, but these were my results last time I checked them - from May 2001 until September 2008:-

Software ...... Profit

MG .............. $16,156
Crypto ......... $14,020
RTG .............. $1,626
WW .............. $1,059
GV .................. $843
Playtech .......... $337
Rival ................ $155
Misc. Others ... $1,796

The same reason some of us mugs blow silly money away on fruit machines; it's GOT to pay out sometime... hasn't it? :p

Hey KK,

Thanks for the reply. And thanks everyone for reading.

Considering your calculations there, I think you're doing somewhat better than I am ;) I'm familiar with your site and it's been a real helpful resource on getting info on SUBS and WR.

I just don't have your inhuman patience when it comes to making the most of these bonuses. I also suspect keeping track of all the pending bonuses, cashouts, and play through's would require quite a bit of work. I think you are secretly hiding the fact you are a cyborg! Don't let the casinos get wind of this, they will consider it bot play.

I have tried GV, their games made my eyes bleed. Trying to follow a payline on that Seahorse slot is similar to decoding a military cipher. I found the slots quite low variance and found myself getting a bit bored. One GV still does drop me a 300% bouns offer each month though, which I fritter through without a real sniff of a cashout.

I'm stunned at your result from Crypto Casinos. You play any game in particular?

Bear in mind that figure is for 7+ years play, taking generous monthly bonuses (in the early days) from Intercasino, Will Hills, Ritz Club, Sands, 49er, Littlewoods, Omni, VIP, Total Bet, Peach & CyberSpades. Average it all out & it's only around $166/month.
Had a few biggies along the way, like hitting Bejeweled for $2,000 and a Rapid Fire Jackpot of 965.

The bonuses are so poor now that I hardly play Cryptos at all these days. Not to mention nearly all those casinos have bitten the dust now. This is a real shame because I think the software is great. :(
I started out with Blackjack and Table pokers, then as the bonuses became less friendly I slowly turned to PaiGow & slots.

Great Thread

I've played at different casino's

I only made some withdrawals at microgaming and land based casino's
Always lost at RTG, Crypto and Rival

I'm not that lucky I think at playing slots

Excellent post and glad you decided to join us.
Not sure how I missed this previously.

My Personal experience (never won at a Rival and the brand is very suspect) means I would swap RTG and Rival but all the rest I have had similar experiences-Cryto's a no go etc.

Holy crap, I won an award. Thanks for the nominations!

I'd like to thank my agent (my cat Rinky), who's tireless efforts in 'sleeping on my desk' has pushed me to new literary heights.

Anyway, it's interesting to see my 2 biggest.....err whats the plural of nemesis?

It's interesting to see my 2 least favorite software types definitely have their fans.

For the record, still haven't cashed out at a RTG

I assume you mean feedback on returns for slot games? It varies depending on the particular game you are choose. A summary is below:

Softwares for which there is data by game
Microgaming -- 3.5% to 7% HE. Lower variance games tend to have lower HE.
Wagerworks -- 1.94 to 8.00% HE
Net Ent -- 2.5% to 8.4% HE
Rival -- 2% to 6 HE
RTG -- Operators can choose 3 settings: 2.5%, 5%, or 7.5%?

Softwares for which there is not data by game
Playtech -- Payout data suggests 3-6%
Crypto -- Payout data suggests 5-8%

However, if you are trying to measure how often you make cashouts then there are many other factors involved, such as the variance of the games and how much wagering you do prior to cashing out. If you play long enough, you are expected to lose over time, assuming you are not claiming bonuses. If you are claiming bonsues, then there are various other factors to consider, most notably the wagering requirement.

Have to agree that RTG is the hardest to win on. I used to take a lot of bonuses at RTG but i try not to these days as its amazing the amount of times you get half way thru the wagering requirements and the slots go dead? Coincidence? I would tend to believe not

I use to think that too.

But recently I've been doing good at RTG.

Turned $200 into $3,400.

Turned $250 into $6,700.

Both within a month.
