I take a bonus, anyone else have this problem?

Yep, I take bonuses all the time now. Been trying casinos I haven't played at in a long time because the usual ones aren't giving me squat.

However, it seems none want to keep my business. Roxy has been the worst; haven't been able to win anything with several deposits. Unloaded it and what happens ..... a bonus credited to my account.

Still didn't win.

RTG has been horrendous for me lately, especially INetBet. Did have a cashout at Omni using their sign-up bonus though.

Oops, I did win $200 off a $30 bonus at INetBet a few days ago. Sorry INetBet, it was a different RTG casino.

me too, but I can't even win with bonuses :what:

The same here. Only I must add, especially with bonus. I don't know why but every time I take bonus, I do much worse as without. Maybe because I am so frustrated about W/R, that I can't really enjoy the play and concentrate me properly on a winning strategy... It amased me, how many people do well with bonuses...

Yah.... same here. (See my MoonShine screenshot I posted yesterday in the Sucks thread.) I've been cocooned in bad gambling karma for at least 6 months. I must have really majorly pissed off the gambling gods sometime during Xmas....

P.S. Lydia... A bonus (particularly 50% & higher) can greatly extend playing time, giving the chance of some decent hits. That's from what I remember.... LOL I haven't been able to cash in off a bonus in quite some time. If I do manage to get near or reach WR, I'm broke.

I know the feeling! Nobody likes me any more, nobody wants to play with me, nobody let me win (crying bitterly...) :(

Don't forget many MG's now have the 'Flexible Bonus' system - so you're not tied in to huge WR's any more!

Of course, you do need to get a decent win before it's worth cashing-out - that's the hard part!

Thanks, KK! I feel better now. I won't be in Germany this Saturday (week-end in Paris - oh la,la,la!) :D

Interestingly enough, I questioned whether a bonus is worth claiming or not and doing the math, I find in most circumstances, it is NOT worth claiming and heres why.

1)Deposit $50 - spin 18 times on $2 slot, hit bonus, hit free spins= $200+ cashout immediately VS:
Deposit $50 + 50% bonus ($25.00) = $75 - spin 18 times on $2 slot, hit bonus, hit free spins now the hard part...making the wagering requirements..because of a lousy $25.00 bonus that usually you don't even need to hit a win withyou must wager 20x deposit and bonus = $1500.00. when I could have played or withdrawan right up front. Still makes no sense to take a bonus IMO for the piddly amount offered.

I feel the bonuses offered are a hook to sink your winnings right back, and as most say, they can't even get a part of the wagering requirements met for the play is definitely different which I agree with also, for the casino does NOT want you to cash out, but bust out. The few that do make it through the WR and cash out are far outnumbered by those that go bust and that is another point NOT to take the bonus I feel.

What you've proceeded to do in your post is not math. You are posting a hypothetical outcome and explaining why in that one hypothetical instance, it would have been better to not claim the bonus.

In general, it is not worth it for a recreational gambler to claim a bonus if

a) Claiming the bonus causes you to wager $X more than you would have wagered had you not claimed the bonus (over the same timeframe)
AND
b) You end up with a net expected loss because the additional wagering of $X costs you $Y in expected loss, and that $Y is greater than the bonus amount
AND
c) The extra gambling time you gained from the bonus did not provide you sufficient entertainment for amount that it cost you ($Y-<bonus amount)

Things are much simpler if you're gambling to make money. You take a bonus if the variance is acceptable and the EV/hr is worth it.

You are right...but the numbers don't lie, I am not really unintelligent, but to me taking a bonus amounts to forced play with funds that are just a token amount of the WR, which does not compute to smart play in my book at all.

I would rather deposit $50 three times and hit a nice payoff of $500-$1000 and withdraw, then take a bonus of $25 and have to play out any and all my winnings just to be able to withdraw $100 if I am lucky...

Just doesn't make much sense to me anyway I turn it, for the object of the casinos,in my opinion as I stated, is to keep you playing long enough to LOSE it ALL. and that is just what they are doing, the casinos, for, as I read, most do just that, play all the winnings out trying to reach the WR except the lucky few that do meet it but have less to cash out then they did if they DIDN"T use a bonus.. Not good odds at all.
