Am I the only one in the UK (world) with this problem?

This evening I have been totally unable to play at any MG I've tried. :(
Mostly can not even log in, when I did I could not get any slots to actually load up to play.
Tried Ladbrokes, Ruby Fortune, 32Red, Mummy's Gold - all the same from 6pm to midnight!

Yet during the same time frame I was able to log in & play normally at a Crypto & a Rival, and of course, view this forum with no problems.

Clues...?

Hi KK

I have been playing at Ladbrokes no problems today..... MG do seem to be pumping out a serious number of updates at the moment though.... Any chance your AV or firewall are preventing the updates?

I know this is probably of no help whatsoever, but I had the same issues with all Wagerworks casino's briefly earlier today... All 404's... Where MG and Crypto etc were running fine.

Seems weird though as, correct me if I'm wrong, I thought MG servers were located in different places...

Hope you get in soon mate, only 15 days of WR thrashing to go!!!! :D

Nope, you're not alone. I experienced the same thing last night. Between 9pm - 12am PST, I could not connect to any MG casinos. Flash versions were no good either. And when I was able to log in, the play was extremely choppy. After a few minutes of play, on whatever slot, the reels would then spin for minutes, not stop, .. I'd get bumped out of the casino, and not be able to log back in. I lost plenty of money last night, while trying to spin through this mess...I should have just waited it out....shoulda woulda coulda...oh well, live and learn. I contacted CS to see if other players had been calling in regarding this issue. All suggested this problem was on my end and for me to uninstall, downnload, and reinstall. I did as suggested, but it didnt help. :what:

Happening AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really DO wish MG would get a grip on this, and not just lightly dismiss it as "customer end" as they normally do. Zodiac has been terrible, takes 3 or 4 attempts, then slows up and boots me. I went to Ruby Fortune, and with a few ups and downs converted my 300 cashback bonus into 2000, but I still had many problems with near locking up of the games, and hands taking ages to be returned from the server. In the end, the lobby just started playing up, and I hit a long losing streak (or is that a long loosing streak eh KK:D).
I withdrew on the next upsurge to 2000.

I DID try to get Darran fired by having a few 67.50 goes on Munchkins:D, but gave up after half a dozen, as I didn't want my 2000 to vanish, as it represents 1400 won back from the last two weeks of EVIL slots!

Palace VIP support did tell me they were having some problems, and this caused the claim to get stuck initially, so perhaps there IS an MG wide issue that has been causing these recent problems.

Yep - that's exactly what I keep getting.
The CS telling you to re-install is a total load of bullshyt!

Now I admit there is a problem with my broadband (Pipex) which is nearly as slow as good old dial up in the evenings, and this is definitely contributing to the MG connection problem.
What I don't understand is that I can play other softwares completely normally on my DSL connection, but just not MG.
Yesterday, having given up with the broadband, I actually used my BT dial up 38KB/s to connect to an MG and it played perfectly!

This-morning I played Ladbrokes on DSL and it was totally fine - this evening, same old... :(

I seriously think the whole internet network is overloaded & just can't cope with the traffic.
What other explanation is there?

This is something that needs to be looked at by the INDUSTRY, individual players simply do not have the resources and information necessary to investigate fully. The fact that it only affects SOME casinos indicates that it is Microgaming that need to reconfigure something at their ends, not customers. They should start by designing a way to measure responce times between the Viper clients and the servers, and this will at least give them the detailed information they need to see when, and which casinos, this happens with, which should then allow them to see what might be happening.

There is a utility that can be used to monitor the global internet, providing broad information about loading and delays. I have used it a couple of times, and the problems with MG do not seem related to any sudden drop in the overall performance of the internet.

Perhaps MG are making things harder by having the Viper client contact several different servers to conduct a session. A problem with just one of these messes up the whole thing.
It may even be that there is a bug that makes the Viper client fail to respond to the return signal from the server, leaving reels spinning even though the result is known. I have seen evidence of this tonight. I played a hand of VP, and the game froze on the draw, I gave up the wait, but the second I returned to the lobby my balance reflected the result of the hand. This makes it look like the signal DID get back to me, and the balance updated but the graphics failed to complete the hand. When I tried to reenter the game, I instantly got a casino error 0 and was disconnected. When I eventually got back in, the balance had indeed been correctly updated for the result that never played out.

Is it more than coincidence that this week also saw the general introduction of two new tournament slots, and a selection of new tournaments?

In retrospect, I'd say my 'connection' problems with MG casinos started immediately after that recent 'download update' ( I was told this update was for the new games )...the one that was presented upon logging into MG casinos. In reality, this update may have nothing to do with the problem.. but from my recent experiences at numerous MG casinos, playing old and new slots, this update is highly related. I wish MG would fix this.
This problem, resulting in unsatisfactory gaming experiences, caused me to look and deposit elsewhere....3Dice and Rival casinos have been good to me.

This could explain part of my problem - a free online download speed test:-

Download Bandwidth Test Results
Download speed: 152 kilobits per second
Test details: 171 kilobytes downloaded in 9.047 seconds.
Receive buffer size: Not available

Typical rated speeds vary depending on your type of Internet connection. Dial-up users can get up to 54 Kb/s but typical connections are in the 40s. Cable modem users can expect from 1000 to 3000 Kb/s, the maximum rate may be capped by the cable company. DSL users get from 256 Kb/s to 2000 Kb/s depending on the level of service you have purchased.

I just can not play MG's any more (except weekend day time) :(
This problem is DEFINITELY something to do with the way MG software doesn't work.
I can't stand this shit any more - I'm going to have to stick to all the other softwares which all work perfectly OK (most of the time).

I'm a very unhappy camper.

{Edit} Oh double poop!
Just got an e-mail from Ladbrokes saying they are doing scratch-cards on one of my favourites: Santa paws!
But I can't play it unless I stay up half the night every day... :sob:
