Seeing Canbet on the accredited list I thought I would have a look at this casino.

I went to their site and had a look around. I had some base questions like do they accept people from my country.

I clicked the live chat link and noticed that they were unavailable.

I came back several times later; same result, live chat not available.
I am hesitant to play at any new casino w/o chat.

So I PM’d Canbet here at Casinomeister to find out which hours their live chat is available.

I noticed that the member “Canbet” had not logged into CM for about 2 years.
Then I saw Canbet log in about 10 seconds after I sent the message along with another Canbet representative. Both did not reply to my message. I don’t think they realise that we can see them when they are online.

The next day Canbet’s Live chat finally became available.

I had a copy of the chat log but I copied over it. ;(

It was a person named Byron. The chat was only about 20 minutes ago and I remember it.

Byron: Hello how can I assist you?
Me: Hi I am wondering when live chat is available. Seems to be offline sometimes.
Me: Hello are you there Byron I have been waiting now for over 5 minutes.
Me: Byron?

The lights are on but nobody is home at Canbet.

Then they probably just forgot to tell you that you must use the secret signal when you come to visit. You need to knock 3 times on the front door. Secret password is "don`t tell Bryan. ". Then the door will open, and you can play away your money :p

One of Canbet's representatives has contacted me about this. I judged too quickly. ;(

But I would still like to see them explain their way out of this.

Well that went badly.
The reps. reply to my two questions were; “Well, live chat are here now.”

In my email I made it clear that I am looking for some kind of explanation.
He didn’t even bother to explain why live chat wasn’t there in the beginning.
Also he didn’t explain why live chat was ignoring me.

My suspicions about Canbet have been confirmed; it’s just another low-grade casino.
I wouldn’t waste my time on it. I wouldn’t recommend this casino either unless you want to be given the run-around too.

maybe you are judging too quickly again:rolleyes:

Maybe not. Canbet is NOT the Canbet that first got accredited. It was sold to new owners, and it seems things HAVE deteriorated somewhat in terms of the player experience. This has not gone so far as to cause complaints about non-payment, but these "service issues" would NOT have happened under the old owners, who would have given you a PROPER explanation and apology, rather than a "well, there here now" as though you were being unreasonable in expecting live chat to be available when YOU wanted some "customer service", rather than when THEY wanted to provide it.

Is it Canbet that's related to Gnuf?

Betway and Gnuf are sister casinos - and they will be falling under the wings of the Palace Group - about now.

If you could direct me to these complaints, I'd like to hear about them. Feel free to post the links here. Thanks!

Does this mean Betway and GNUF have been SOLD to the Palace Group? They have recently announced an "upgrade", and this has now happened. Both casinos are taking a full update (over an hour each) on my PC, and banking has changed to standard MGS banking.

As for Canbet, they just forgot about their existing players after the move, and I heard nothing for months. Recently, I was sent a promo by Clinton Katts, so I thought things had settled down. When I made a withdrawal, I was asked for a picture of me holding my ID document. Although more common, this request is STILL only asked for when there is a suspicion of something not being quite right. Given that Canbet had all my documents, and I was VIP under the old owners, this took me by surprise. I sent them the usual documents (again!), and they replied that since I was a regular player, I needn't send them the picture of me holding ID after all, and my withdrawal was paid.
As an aside, I was also told that their standard pending peroid had increased to a whopping 96 hours:eek: It used to be "instant", and then quietly changed to 24 hours under the old owners.

The complaints on the forum have been minor, but this thread is another. The impression I get is a fall in standards of service, rather than a descent into roguedom.
I wonder whether the new owners simply inherited the accreditation of the old, and keep it because there have been no major complaints.

I am wary of playing again, at least until I manage to produce that picture of me holding my ID, just in case they DO decide they want it NEXT time I withdraw.
