I noticed recently Casumo didn't have Novo available for me and it's been annoying me so I just contacted live chat here's their response

Casumo-Jonathan:
If you have a UK-account (and the casino has the UK-license) no casino is allowed to offer Novomatic. I know there might be some who is trying to dodge that, but it can become an real issue if you dont follow the rules :p

me:Why is it suddenly not UK ok? Did they explain? the slots are really high risk so they are money spinners you
lose more than you win anyway it's very odd
Casumo-Jonathan:
I have no clue, it is something legal between Novomatic and ecogra.

So there you have it Sky Vegas,Energy and several other UK ok casinos are breaking the law. Best avoiding Novo if you are a uk player as it could forfeit winnings derived from this gaming software! I'm going to avoid until Uk are allowed them again.

I am not doubting what you were told dave but I am not so sure about this. SkyVegas and Energy for two seem very respectable to me and I highly doubt they would break the law. I trust what they say far more than some random cs at casumo.

That said, I have no idea about potential licencing issues here so I could be wrong, what I have said is my honest initial impression.

Sorry Dave but I find this hard to believe. Sky & BetVictor both have their games available (just checked) and there is no way these two would if it was against the law. Plus, Greentube (who are themselves a Novomatic company) operate Bellfruit Casino which is specifically for the UK market, even though it has probably the most unresponsive customer service and slowest payouts I have ever come across.

He said it's a dispute between Ecogra and Novomatic the fact that they have not been available on Casumo for uk players for about 4 months maybe longer. Something is amiss. Respect your opinion though maybe they aren't aware of the dispute and the change might contact them later and see what they say.

No worries Simmo I just can't get my head around why Casumo removed them though? As I said before they are very high variance slot machines so why get rid if they are allowed to have them?

Actually, to the best of my knowledge, eCOGRA have no power over what games a casino can offer. All they can do is refuse to issue their own certification but that doesn't make playing the games illegal.

So what you are saying is Ecogra certified gives the player peace of mind that they are playing a slot that has their seal of approval. Much like the way Casinos get a good, poor or rogue rating from Casinomeister.

They offer various "seals" including a software seal and a casino seal but essentially yes.

I thought I would take a look at bellfruit after seeing your post -

6. Reach at least 1000 x the value of your deposit in points until your next withdrawal in order to convert your bonus into cash and make it withdrawable (e.g. on £50 deposit you should first reach 50,000 points to convert the bonus into cash and withdraw it). In case you withdraw any deposited amount from your account before reaching the due points, your bonus shall be lost and you may not make any further claims on the bonus. However, you are free to withdraw any other winnings.

So basically, their deposit bonus is not real..

I'm always cautious about accepting what CSR's say when it comes to more complex matters like this, and I doubt that ECOGRA is involved; they are accredited as a dispute resolution provider for UK Gaming Commission licensed online casinos, and I seem to recall they are also accredited as an accepted compliance testing agency but as Simmo has suggested this is a private company that would have no official authority to restrict licensing or operations of any online casino in the UK market.

The Support person has probably misinterpreted the company line on this.

You can also play these games at Grosvenor/Mecca so I doubt that information is accurate about being illegal :D

i got cut of at all thos places few months back for Novamatic games. only place i can still play them is Quasar gaming for some reason ?
Energy casino even wont allow me to log in from my location??? they do have other games then Novamatic.

As an aside, you could check out the EGT slots at Jetbull if anyone can't play Novo games: they are very similar.

Breaking news update! It has indeed been a mix up in the information and sorry to have caused any confusion. The fact that we have not had these games available to our UK players since we brought them on is simply a matter of the license between us and Novomatic. Ecogra we can leave out of the mix, you may very well be able to play them through other sites that is depending on how the agreement looks for them. These games are great and very in demand so this has of course been a bit of a thorn in the side. We really like to remove thorns though, so I´ll let you guys be the first to know that there might be some conversations currently going on to get these games available for UK as well. Happy days.

Let me get back to you again when I have some more information about it.

While your here Jenny do you know when the UK players with existing accounts will be able to play in pounds £ now that you accept that currency? The bank charges are starting to mount up over the £100 mark with the conversion charge...

Cheers

We just very recently got GBP available for new accounts and we are looking to convert the existing ones to this currency as well, but right now I don't know the time frame for when it will be reality. We do know it would be a blessing though, so sooner rather than later.

I'll hold you to that but I wont hold my breath! ;)

Well I surely hope you wont, holding your breath actually has a number of negative side effects on your body. Just to mention a few you prevent nitric oxide from entering your body which will have a bad impact on your immune system and you put billions of brain cells on minimum performance due to the lack of oxygen. Also, you could faint.
