It has been a long time coming. Turning 21 on Saturday.

I had no original intention of going to the casino on my 21st birthday, but because Easter decided to be on the following Sunday, I would be celebrating with my family anyway...

~~~ SO......... my parents decided that Atlantic City would be a good choice for the weekend. My dad keeps cracking this joke that he wants me to stand at the edge of the casino floor until midnight Friday.
I am extremely excited about going and all because my parents typically go to the Resorts casino in AC once every 2-3 weeks and I've occasionally come with them to reap the benefits of comp'd room service.. while I just chilled in the room spinning online slots, playing poker, and watching tv.
This is going to be a new experience for me. Hopefully I won't lose the 2,000 dollars I set aside for this last year when I hit my jackpot in a microgaming casino.
I don't really know what to expect. I assume it will be similar to Yonkers in New York or Charlestown in West Virginia (Only two casinos I've ever been to where I was allowed to play at.)
Also would be nice to figure out what the minimum stack a poker table there would be... but not really looking forward to people looking down on me for being so young and expecting me to just try to bluff every hand x.x.
Anyway, some advice or suggestions on what to play would be nice.
**Sarcasm** Can't wait to be asked for my age every twenty minutes!
Happy PreBday, Good Luck at the tables. Got some bad news for you though honey, now that you are actually 21, no one will ask for your ID:)
You know that's up to YOU. :p
My personal rules for B&M trips: When going to B&M casinos, I set aside a certain amount to play with (lose) per day. When the day's allotment is gone, fine, I go soak in the extra huge tub or Jacuzzi or go swimming or shopping or whatever. Then I still have money to play with the next day. NEVER take more with you than you are comfortable losing. NEVER write a check/visit ATM/borrow while at the casino.
We found the best/easiest way to break into real table poker, is to start with touneys... say $50 entry.... get used to handling the chips, the cards, watching players, etc. If people don't like you, are wary of you, watch you, tease you... fine... piss on 'em -- play YOUR game. Register early, get the print out for the tourney, (rules, start times, buy-in prices, add ons, etc.) and actually READ it. LOL
If you know how to play video poker, your money may last longer ... play slow, start small (nickel or dime VP is good). Win? Great! Cash out, set some aside (after cashing in my ticket, I wad some cash up and put it in the bottom of my purse -- where it would take an army of bloodhounds to find it LOL) and play with the rest. (someone told me once that a $500 bankroll would be plenty for 2 days of .25 --$1.25 max bet 9/6 JoB VP. In their dreams!! I can make that disappear on a dead machine in an hour or two. I play 800 hph if I don't slow down.) Rinse, repeat....
Just like online slots, watch that max bet button on penny and nickel slots. You could be betting $10 a spin on max bet....
Above all... enjoy the casino experience, it's not all about just shoving money into machines.....
Good luck! :thumbsup:
Happy Pre-Birthday as well!
I remember when I first went to a Casino, I was all over the roulette and sic-bo tables! I had a blast!
I hope you have a great time!
Hiya, Happy Birthday. Here is my suggestion. Take how many days you will be at AC. What is your last Full Day there? Now divide your bankroll allotment by 2. 1/2 of that is used for your last full day. take the other 1/2 and divide it by how many other days you are there.
The purpose of this is to allow you to Gamble each day, and to KNOW, that on your last day you will have the MOST Money to use, no matter what happens in the days prior.:cool:
Here in Vegas i have seen all to often people come to town, and get carried away, and lose most/all of their money on the first day, and then spen the next 2-3 days doing nothing because they are broke. There is no worse feeling than walking by places and being broke. There is no Better Feeling than walking by places, and going in to play, or buy things, or whatever you want to do.:) Have fun.....
Bring your Camera, take a ton of Pics. Play as many different games, if even on a few bets, as you can. Who knows, you might find a game you never played before, and did now, and like it.
Happy Birthday - Hope you have a blast and win lost of money :D
Well.. that was AMAZING
Won 600 on one slot pull.. 300 on another and 450 this morning
Played Blackjack and in my first hour at a 15 dollar + table I made my 100 dollar chip stack 450 and cashed it..
THEN..... I lost all but 100 bucks which I decided I'd like to have for the last 3 weeks of the semester.
3 hours before we left, my dad gave me the 300 dollars left of the 2000 dollar bonus he and my mom had on their casino card and played with that.
2 hours before we left, my dad hit a 2,000 dollar win on CashMan so he gave me another 100 which I saved for the rest of college to party with.
I'm so pumped from this weekend. Had SO much fun.
TABLE GAMES ARE SOOO COOL.. so many stories to tell
