Earth, man!
So after 5 years away from online gambling, with the exception of occasional 3dice play which I still love. What has happened..... I reopened my 32red account to play some old favourites and there gone, hitman, avalon, even isis.... Ok, at least I hoped the video poker was still there, oh how disappointed I was. Did a search for All Aces, some game popped up, started playing and it has the stupid time restriction so after hitting the draw and getting paid out your waiting to be able to start the next round, no speed setting options I could find. They had mostly dropped the buy a bonus 5 years ago but now even auto play seems to have vanished.

I dunno, but it just feels different to how it used to be, certainly not as fun anymore, maybe I have changed who knows, so wtf/??

In a period of 5 years, many games go end of life. On my end I went live with their new portfolio of videopoker games though:

Funnily enough you mentioned there 3 old Microgaming favourites I used to love. The newer UKGC rules restrict game frequency hence spin and play delays compared to before. Autoplay removal was done for 'responsible gambling' reasons and is completely illogical and pointless as tracking your RTP, losses and play overall was made easier with autoplay.

Interesting post, as you've been away for 5 years and noticed the bullsh!t come down all in one cascade, whereas those still active in those 5 years got the BS bit-by-bit.

Its seems to me everything the UKGC does is illogical, for the last 5 years I've played mostly live,, pretty much 1 brand of slot... they've fairly recently got play and go, omg, having played them online for years they may as well be completely different games, a lot of 90% rtp with a shitty must hit progressive, these slots make even Vegas airport seem good

If these questions feel too personal, please don’t feel obliged to answer. But if it’s alright, I’m curious - why did you decide to stop playing? And what made you start again after such a long break?

To an extent yes, one would argue that regulation has gone too far. Talking about Gamstop though, I have been signed up to it since 2018. However, I am of the view that the Source of Wealth requirements and the intrusiveness of the questions asked is far more effective than Gamstop could ever be :D

Very true.
