To be fair to Roxy they do offer some decent promos from time to time.

However when its basically NOT a 243-ways slot, alarm bells automatically ring for me, once bitten, twice shy n all that

I really don't understand why casinos pull stunts like these, which piss customers off.
They may make a little in the sort term from the deposits needed to claim the promotions.
But will probably lose more in the long term from customers closing accounts, just not depositing again, or depositing less, than they gain by cutting the number of lines in a promotion, especially when any winnings come with 50x WR anyway.
In fact they'd probably be better off not doing the promotion at all.

Problem is, they know many people will never ask what lines are active and just deposit. They're probably so used to getting shoddy deals that they think it's standard and probably good when they get one with more than half the paylines active! I appreciate they don't need to do these promotions, but if you want to keep your customers happy, cut the marketing gimmicks and give them a proper promotion and not some 'not quite what it appears' garbage. You'll get even more repeat customers than you'll expect most likely...

I remember back in MG days that Ladbrokes did something similar tho this turned out to be a genuine error.

Instead of 50 lines coins 0.01, they did 10 lines coins 0.05, can be seen as a mistake when setting up promo, however they rectified this and let players keep both sets of winnings.
