All customers bets under the age of 25. Look at how many lives they ruin . The young people 18-25 should not be gambling . They promote on TV and Internet they cannot escape it. They make Un responsible adults. Look at USA they banned gambling we should do the same. The gambling companies don't help we have to get help from.nhs once they have your money and self exclude they don't help you as you don't give them any money.

You could apply that logic to any pastime but then there'd be nothing left to enjoy. As with any vice, moderation is the key.

I'm sure most here are responsible gamblers and choose to gamble. I'd consider 25 to be an age where responsibility takes hold, at least much more than 18.

There has to be some cut-off point, and 18 seems reasonable enough, and I can't envisage the government or casinos themselves raising the minimum legal age anytime soon.

However, I do agree that casinos are targetting the pre-18 demographic with infantile slot design.

The USA haven't 'banned' gambling FYI - they simply make it hard for outside competition and yes some states insist on 21+. In Eire FOBTs are banned, a good thing IMO. The rest of Europe and Aus/Can is heavily licensed and regulated.

The problem is often advertising as said above, and this is not really the remit of the UKGC but the ASA.

And yes, infantile graphics and cartoon themes don't help, what I call 'ELC slots' (Early Learning Centre).

Online is safer in some respects as instant self-set SE/TAB is 100% effective in theory, or should be whereas land-based SE is far harder to enforce.

Like any vice it should be treated with caution by its participants.:)

But why have so many youngster ruined their lives. Got into debt or developed the addiction at a young age where they cannot escape. Making unresponsiable adults. If no gambling was allowed young people could be successful use the money 4 deposit for a house or start a family with nothing to do with gambling.

Why give young people a free license to gamble it's a disaster. They come out of school and have free choice to gain a addiction straight away. Fund gambling companies 4 life.

Bit of an over-simplification there. Of course out of millions of young people there'll be a few that become addicted to gambling. By removing the ability to gamble what's to say they don't become addicted to something else instead? It comes down to the individual, not the medium.

People's freedoms are being streamlined every day, prohibiting another one is hardly going to be welcome. We're not talking about ten-year olds who gamble, but adults. Who here wouldn't want every gambling loss returned to them, but where's the fun in that?

It's down to the individual at the end of the day. What's to say someone who's been sensible all their lives can't become addicted at 50 or 60?

Taking a wild guess here that you have a gambling problem and blew all your money.

So what next. Ban bookies. Ban scratchcards. Ban alcohol.

Ban everything that can possibly be addictive and ruin people lifes.

Sorry far as i knew we still have some freedom of choice in UK. Once it gets to state where everything gets banned as it can be harmful for us then its the day to give up totally. Gambling can be a serious problem so can many things. End of the day because some people develop a severe problem thats no reason to Ban it for the many who use it as an enjoyable pastime.

If you're deemed to be old and wise enough to cast a vote, you should be old and wise enough to decide how you spend your money.

Take responsibility for your own actions rather than blame it on others. Well that is how I was brought up. You learned from your mistakes and didn't blame all and sundry for them.

Kids these days hey.

I lost money I admit it but I am self excluded from every site in UK . I took responsibility but gambling companies still don't provide me with support. They could careless now. I tried to get help but long waiting list. Even 32red took advantage of me didn't block my payment from bring uses again during self exclusion. I have done everything to stop
