It's 2026 and the online gambling space is pretty much unrecognisable to how it was twenty years ago in 2006. Regulation, some would say over zealous regulation has neutered the ability for casinos to offer 'enticing' bonus offers.

So what about casino loyalty schemes and cashback that many operators provide. Have these all got worse?

In the past players would only play at casinos that offered enticing bonuses, but here in the UK for example online casinos are now only allowed to implement a WR of 10x. So thus tipping the scales against the casino making decent money.

Your view? Are the days of enticing loyalty schemes, cashback offers and bonuses now over?

I think it's dead in the UK.

However, few licensing jurisdictions have tax laws as insane as the UK's. This is where you probably will find more bonus offers floating around.

Generally speaking, the industry has tanked — RTG probably being the only exception...

Sadly, I think one of the biggest things we've lost over the years was the different approaches, styles, and variety of casinos available to players and how this was expressed in their offer to players

It was very obvious who was focused on building relationships with players, following through on commitments and rewarding loyalty, and those who were running bare bones operations

With the notable exception of a few excellent providers that continue to stand out in the casino market, a lot of what's left now is very cookie cutter and indistinguishable from one to another and frankly uninspired

Regular bonuses are banned since 2024 in Belgium. Casinos and bookies adapted by giving free bets when you put a bet on, profit boosts, "buy" free spins with loyalty coins, win something on a wheel thingy,... Sometimes they'll have a (not so) secret cashback.

But all of those are wager free. I prefer these loyalty schemes over the regular bonuses but that might just be me.

They pretty much don't exist in the UK market in asmuch as the hoops you go through almost make them useless. LandL do 10% back but not all of us are able to play at these casinos due to overzealous licencing restrictions. Lottomart do a diamond loyalty scheme but again the amount of play needed to take advantage of these loyalty gifts regularly is far beyond us average players. SlotsTemple do daily free competitions, which are probably the stand out option at the moment but with restrictions how much you can actally deposit there in a month in the UK,in my case at least,I can't really make significant deposits for it to be a regularly used casino. And the biggest elephant in the room is that if you know RTPs are constantly being nerfed then why bother at all?
