Hi Meisters!

It's been a long time since I had any credit card. I just ordered a visa cibc from my bank and I wondered if I will be able to make deposits on the sites I want. I know in the past you could even withdraw on a visa. Is there someone here with the same card that could tell me his/ her experience?

If a casino rep reads my post and want to share info with me via pm I would also be very happy.

I have a CIBC visa card. For a while, I was unable to deposit with it. But, it was successful a few months ago. Withdrawals I would definitely stay away from. Sometimes that gets lost in Cyberspace and can take forever to track. I now use Ecopayz for everything and Instadebit. With Ecopayz, it also acts as a credit card and you can withdraw from it as long as the casino will process withdrawals to Mastercard.

You need to have funds in your Ecopayz acct in order to use it as a credit card. Works for POS purchases as well.

CIBC was one of the big 5 banks that let gaming transactions go through, it was my understanding that they were stopping this, I used to use my CIBC Aventura all the time, not sure now though as I quit using my bank CC's for gaming.

I am a little bit shy to ask them if I am allowed or not.... I don't want them to freak out and close my credit card. This is getting so complicated to just gamble a little bit.

I don't think you need to worry about that, if you go to the card FAQ's it probably has a blurb for gaming transactions (used to), the one knock they used to treat it like cash advance so you start paying interest from date of transaction instead of your standard 21 grace.

I just pulled this from CIBC's credit card agreement, I think you are good to use, if they lock the card I wouldn't stress, they did for me after my 2nd transaction because it was irregular for my normal spending habits, but this was about 5 years ago, things may have changed.

Cash Advance means any of the following:
• cash advances from your Credit Card Account taken at a financial institution or an ABM;
• Cash-Like Transactions; and
• using CIBC Telephone Banking, CIBC Mobile Banking® or CIBC Online Banking® to pay bills or transfer funds
from your Credit Card Account.
Cash-Like Transactions means Transactions involving the purchase of items directly convertible into cash,
including casino gaming chips, money orders, wire transfers, certain lottery tickets and traveller’s cheques

Ok thanks a lot. I read all the terms from my card but there is no mention about gaming transaction. Only the interest from day one for transactions considered cash advance. I will probably try it on espace jeux and try to withdraw to my bank account. I can't imagine CIBC would dare refuse a "gaming" transaction from a legal website runned by the government.

I will have to try at Playnow to see if it works, I normally use Interac there, I hope it works for you.

You're going On espace jeux....nooooooo....

I wanna know if you win anything....

Yeah I would do it but they only accept 4 banks and CIBC is not one of them.

Playnow does not either, funny though, I have credit cards with Scotia, RBC, TD, BMO and CIBC, all but CIBC get declined for online gaming, yet you can use all four at Playnow with the exception of CIBC, sumthins backwards. As well I buy Paysafe cards from USEMYFUNDS through the interac systems, CIBC is there but only with their Visa debit, so if you have a visa debit card and have the funds on hand this card will work.

Well, Hello there Hhello

Imo, the Only website that still work is Espacejeux the Quebec site......which i do recommend, ive had nice win of 3k+ and they do Bank Transfer Free of charge for any amount of withdrawals.

For everything else.....Honestly, i would apply for Ecopayz Account, then use your Visa CIBC to funds your Ecocard!

Once it's done, find Casino that accept Ecopayz.....if ever you win, you can withdraw any amount for Free back into your Ecopayz account! ;)

When you'll have enough money in your Eco account, you can ask for a Bank Transfer back to your CIBC Account! since it's not a casino.....CIBC won't deny it....or else, you may also apply to receive your EcoCard Debit/MasterCard and use it to withdraw directly from any ATM Machine in Montreal!

Just PM me if ever you need more Info or any Canadian who have questions as well! :)
