Android malware spreading through hacked Web sites

Samples analyzed by Lookout show that the malware can be used to access private networks, so IT administrators may want to be on the alert.

Read post.. even I can hardly understand the point he's making.. just a low level threat I think.. but Mobile is a risky thing, add wifi, the other danger-zone and the formula is complete. Been a lot of problems recently with mobile banking as well.
But then again, he works for Microsoft, the ones who keep malware and viruses alive with their shitty software

The Trojan works by automatically downloading an application from a compromised site through the Web browser, a process known as a "drive-by download." The mobile device then prompts the user to install the downloaded app. But for the app to actually install, the "Unknown sources" setting must be enabled on the device; otherwise the installation is blocked.

At least it must be knowingly installed, even if the malware is automatically downloaded when visiting an infected webpage. Just serves as a reminder to never install something if you don't know for certain what it is - whatever OS you're using on whatever type system.

This is indeed a low level threat. But those nasty little hackers must start somewhere.
