Amendment date for T&Cs

My earliest full time job was as a legal secretary. I read every word of everything before I sign it. I do read terms and conditions pretty much every time I play a bonus. I will confess I take the odd free chip with just hitting the high points, or asking chat, about playthrough and max bet.

Places I play often (mostly CM accredited, or at least with a presence here), I will sometimes click the link to terms and if the date has not changed since I last took a bonus, I won't read every single word of the T&Cs

How much may a player rely on that date as for having read the T&Cs?

I would think not at all.

I don't think it would be that difficult to update the T&C's but not the date of the last update unless they are linked and the link has never been damaged due to changes in the site layout.

AFAIAC, there is no reason they should not tell you when you login if the terms have changed, highlight any changes and make you check off on it just like bank and credit card websites do.

That's about the most you can do Jasiminebed

Since online casinos are not truly regulated by any centralized regulatory--and it is unlikely they ever will be--they are not under any legal obligation to provide any notice of a change in terms at any time.

Even in countries like the UK where there are many regulations, UK citizens can and do continue to play as casinos that do not fall under the jurisdiction of those laws. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Depositor beware. Our safest precaution is to Read, Question, Understand, and CYA in writing--especially when playing on a bonus. Our best recourse in the event of a dispute is right here on this site but of course CM cannot do anything but try to make sure the accredited treat players fairly and let us know when problems start happening with these casinos.
