I'm also getting a lot of phishing emails asking me to update adobe products. ........ please don't ever click links as adobe do not send updates like that.
Your issue might be solved by going to the adobe site and re-installing reader. It has happened to me before and it worked.
I do ALOT of reading online, so I get an alert to update my adobe reader about every 4 months (depending on what I am reading). If the alert is through an email I delete it, if it comes as a pop up I click to install later so I can determine if it is really an update I need/want.
REGISTER NOW!! Why? Because you can't do diddly squat without having been registered!
