Hi Guys,

Being from the Uk I'm very excited to get the chance to go AC next year then on to the Bahamas for a wedding.....

So I'm looking for any help, small or large about any casino's in those two locations pls.....

I will be looking to play single zero roulette.....

Many thanks in advance to anybody who takes the time to reply......

Great thread thanks Babs

Looks like I will stick to the boardwalk for the couple of days I will be there...

going from casino to casino.....:)

Hi Babs,

I'm assuming I will be able to cash Travelers Checks at any of the casino's I visit??

I have no desire to carry cash around if it is avoidable???

Also, could you please just confirm which casino's are on the boardwalk, and where is the cut of point?

I have no intention of interacting with any whores or meth heads

Thanking you in advance......

LMAO
Travel checks are fine!

Well, Atlantic CIty is full of flavor! It has from the elite to the destitute. You may hear different opinions and if they are from Ballys/winbig/debbie you are also in good hands because they know AC as well. This might get long and boring because its my favorite subject. I have been going to AC for 46 years and counting. Infact I will be there in 4 weeks for a few days

The fanciest hotel with the most luxury is called the Borgata. That is at the marina near Harrahs and Trump Marina by the marina near a lil town called bringantine. You can see the hotels from the expressway and boardwalk. Its north of the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Harrahs and Trump Marina are also nice so if your there for a few days, its worth the cabride or drive over there.

If you want to play it safe (not that you wouldnt be safe elsewhere) but Ill take you as a conservative. The South end of the boardwalk is the safest. Its called downbeach. That is where you will find the (in order from south to north) The Hilton, Tropicana, Caesars, WildWIldWest, Trump Tower. To be honest, I dont walk past the Trump because it all looks the same on the boardwalk.

The casinos from South to North include Trump TajMahal which has the largest poker room in New Jersey, The Showboat which has blues bands and its kind of new orleansish, THey took down the Claridge (i think). This part of the boardwalk is where you will find the most seedy but at the same time a lot of wealthy because of Trump being there. I just prefer downbeach not passing Caesars because its more pleasant to the eyes. They are working on it.

If you let me know your exact dates when you find out and let me know what you prefer for entertainment, I will be more than happy to find out who is in town and whats going on. If you want to walk the boards to troll the casinos, May-Sept is the prime time weather wise. It can get very cold and windy if you go in the winter.

I also can recommend fabulous restaurants for you if you wish.

WoW Babs alot of info for my small mind to process :eek2:

So I think the South end of the Boardwalk is the place for me, 5 casino's there so that's plenty...:)

I will be going late October / November next year, no need for any entertainment help thank you. Hopefully playing the casino's will give me that

As for food, the information you stated in that previous thread is more than enough

Just a quick question, Any do's & don't s in AC ?? I would like to "mingle in crowd" NOT stand out in the crowd.....

Again thanks for all your help...

Not really

Its pretty laid back there. If your going to walk the boards either early in the morning or later at night, just be casual about winning money and showing it on the boardwalk because of the beggars. But if your going Oct/Nov it shouldnt be a problem. Ohhh, if its cold they have those push carts with covers on it so you dont have to walk in the cold. The prices are kind of high BUT you can talk them down. They want like $10 for 2 blocks lol. You can pay less if you ask.

They have this transportation called the Jitney, its only $2 and goes from end to end. Its cheap if its too cold to walk. Youll like it in the fall, even though its colder, its alot less crowded. You get a cool asian crowd. Thats a popular month for them to fly in to gamble. My husband and I go every other thanksgiving and we are just about the only americans there lol. The summer is a bit more obnoxious lol. If you get lonely or your not sure what to do , you can pm me and Ill give you my number. Im only an hour 1/2 away! Im happily married, not trying to be funny and pick you up LMAO. Just wanna help:)

Do you know where your staying? The Tropicana is my place. They have a huge mall and just added yet another bar. That place is jumping! They just remodeled every tower too. Its nice.

Don't worry Babs I know this isn't a dating forum :lolsign:

Have no idea were to stay etc... I will look at all that a bit nearer the time....

The transport you described sounds spot on, and the time of year I'm going means it will be quite, that suits me down to the ground;)

I will check out the Tropicana, IF you recommend it that's good enough for me

That's one of reasons I started this thread, the casino's websites only tell you so much...

I WILL PM you nearer the time if that's ok, & treat you and your hubby to a meal

Least I can do :)

Your help has been priceless

Hey Babs, it was nice revisiting that thread! We were just getting to know each other then!

What I said still holds true. You are right that if you are staying more than 2 days or so you should travel a little south and see some of New Jersey like Cape May.

I still havent been back since July of '06. They must think I'm dead! Hopefully I can go again soon. Have they stopped the smoking yet? Bastards!

Did they take down the Claridge too? I thought it was just the Sands. Is the Sands still standing? I thought they might just change it and not tear it down. Too Bad Win isnt around. I'd love to meet up with the both of you there.

Its funny you mention that Deb lol, It was the Sands not the claridge. I knew I could of been wrong. THats pretty fun, I practically live there and dont know which casino was taken down. I guess thats because I never leave the Trop area!

Smoking is now banned except in the rooms. They do a few allocated locations near the tables and since the Trop has that downstairs area, your allowed to smoke downstairs. Its just horrible down there because EVERYONE smokes and I cant bare it. Before, some pple smoked and some didnt so it wasnt too bad. The thing is...3 of my good machines are downstairs.

Ohhh Chipper...go to the "HOwdyado thread in the Northamerican section of this forum because I listed the good hitting slots and the time to play them.

Im suppose to go sept 11-13th but I may have to cancel. One of these days Deb...we will get down there at the same time. Just dont quit smoking yet because i need a smoking room LMAO!!
