About Microgaming and freespins on Alaskan Fishing

I have contacted Bellerock support and their rep here about a thing that happened during a free spin session on Alaskan Fishing. The casino was Jackpot City and it was over one week ago.

I had about 5 free spins left when I also hit the bonus game. During free spins all wins are doubled.

The bonus game gave me 780 coins:

2 small fish at 60 coins each
2 medium fish at 150 coins each
1 big fish at 360 coins.

These 780 coins weren`t doubled.

When the last 5 free spins was over I had a total win of 979 coins.

I immediately asked live chat about it(as usual when comes to technical issues it took a long time between his answers). He was trying to help and promised to get more information from Microgaming and I was promised an answer in email.

At this point in the conversation I made sure he had got all info, I didn`t want to write it again. He said he was going to forward all info.

After a while I received an email from playersupport@bellerockentertainment.com where they wanted all info again.

I sent them all info again. The day after I emailed them and asked why I didn`t hear from them. I received no answer.

I asked their rep here to look in to it.

I received no answer from him either.

Today, a long time after all happened I emailed them again to receive answer.
I also tried to remind their rep here.

An hour ago I received answer from playersupport, the answer was in swedish. Translated and shorted:

We apologize..we have recieved an audit from your game and we attached it to this email.

The thing in the email is just the same info I can see in my account at Jackpot City.

No answer to the question about the "non doubled" win during freespin.

As a matter of fact, the session audit doesn`t even tell that it was a bonus game during free spins.

My questions:

1. Can Microgaming/Jackpot City at all see every single spin of the free spins and that I hit the bonus game?

2. Does the sentence "all wins are doubled during free spins" mean that the bonus game money is doubled as well?

My own answer to this is: of course , otherwise they have to change the text on the paytable. I want your opinion here.

3. If Microgaming/Jackpot City can`t see what is happening during free spins, does that mean that they think it didn`t happen?

4. Can I reach their rep here in another way that PM?

The issue here is important. Sometimes I play Alaskan Fishing with bigger bets and then it`s suddenly 97.9$ instead of these 9.79$..

I want some opinions here before I answer the email from playersupport.

BelleRock continue to have these snafus with their support.

There is no need to contact Microgaming, and if the support were familiar with the product they would have given you the following explanation:-

The wins on bonus games triggered during free spins are NOT multiplied by any free spin multiplier. The free spin multiplier ONLY applies to reel wins (including scatters).
This applies in general across the Microgaming portfolio of free spin video slots, and not just the slot in question, Alaskan Fishing.
This IS Usually explained under the game rules, but is easily missed by players since it is an "appendix", rather than a main rule

Unfortunately, I cannot give this in Swedish as per your request:D

I have had a look at Alaskan Fishing, and I have to agree, the explanation is NOT CLEAR the way it is written.

Normally, the appendix clearly states "winnings from the bonus game are not multiplied by the free spins multiplier", or "bonus game winnings are not doubled during free spins", or words to similar effect.

Alaskan Fishing, however, does NOT have a clear statement like this, but rather explains how bonus game wins are calculated, making no mention whatsoever of whether having been triggered during free spins affects the payout. It would rely on players knowing from experience with MGS that this is a general rule. Players relying on the rules for Alaskan Fishing alone can be forgiven for being confused over what should happen when the bonus is triggered during free spins.

Take Tomb Raider for example, you CAN trigger the idol bonus during the free spins, but the coins won from it are NOT tripled, only the reel wins are.

@vinylweatherman:

Well, I didn`t ask for swedish at Bellerock support either. :D

You are correct about Tomb Raider, but there the paytable say so.

Here it clearly say all wins are doubled during free spins.

First I thought the "fish wins" were doubled already when I took them from the water but then I noticed that the paytable say:

5 picks are awarded with a bonus range between 2x and 15x

And my smallest fish were 2x 30= 60 coins.

Where have you taken your quote from?

If I can`t read that(or similar) at Jackpot City it is the paytable I have to lean towards.

I certainly think that the paytable has to be correct.

By the way:

I looked at the paytable again and there is another strange/wrong thing there.

Look at the picture, they have forgot that the "bonus trigger" also is a scatter symbol.

The paytable doesn`t mention scatter att all. According to the paytable the "alaskan fishing" symbol can substitute for scatter and as we all know, it doesn`t.

MGS need to revisit the paytables and rules, and ensure that they also use the same STYLES in their explanations throughout the whole range of games.
The usual "style" is to EXPLICITLY state that bonus wins do NOT benefit from free spin multipliers, but in Alaskan Fishing it seems they have used a different "style", one where saying NOTHING implies that bonus winnings are not multiplied in free spins, and that if they were, it would say so. It would only take an extra line on the rules page for the bonus to do this - there's more than enough space now we have this sh1tty new slow lobby:D

The fact that it does not state on the paytable whether bonus games within free spins are multiplied, means that they are not multiplied. If they were multiplied then the paytable would state it.

The fact the rule has not been added to this slot is a minor issue, as the bonus game is a separate entity, triggered within the free spins as it is on a payline. But not multiplied as the bonus game itself is not on any payline, as it is independent. So the absence of the rule should be treated as the bonus game being paid out, as it would normally outside the free spin feature.

The fact that it does not state on the paytable whether bonus games within free spins are multiplied, means that they are not multiplied.

Where is the logic in that?
I do guess that you see the logic just because you are used to this rule in the Microgaming slots.
Am I right?

If they were multiplied then the paytable would state it.

Yes, the paytable do say it:
All wins are doubled during free spins
I do know what all means.;)

What you mean is payline wins are doubled during free spins but the paytable doesn`t say that.

There`s a HUGE difference between payline wins and all wins.

I think that many players are used to some "rules" here and there but we have to rely on written rules.

My opinion:

We can`t guess things when the rtp on these slots are bad as it is.
This is a lovely game but I have to know that the paytable is correct.

I want some opinions here before I answer the email from playersupport.
I agree with both sides here!
VWM is correct, and I would always ASSUME the same: Bonus rounds on ALL MG slots are not subject to the free-spin multiplier.
It's always been that way. By the same measure I always assume Rival and Grand Virtual bonuses in free-spins ARE multiplied.

But you are also correct - there should be no assumption - the paytable/rules on each and every slot should make it crystal clear if bonus rounds are multiplied or not.
MG need to amend the rules. But I bet it doesn't happen before about 2014... :p

KK

Thanks for your opinions here so far. :)

I think that KK nailed it in some way:

Bonus rounds on ALL MG slots are not subject to the free-spin multiplier.
It's always been that way. By the same measure I always assume Rival and Grand Virtual bonuses in free-spins ARE multiplied.

This makes Wildfire:s answer more understandable and my own opinion even more strong.

They cant have unwritten rules just because players are used to some things written on other games.
It`s written in the paytable for Tomb Raider for a reason. But some how they made 2 mistakes at the paytable for Alaskan Fishing:

1. They forgot to mention that the Alaskan Fishing symbol can`t substitute for scatter.

2. They do not double all winnings during free spins even if the pay table claims all wins are doubled during free spin.

The most importand questions is still unanswered:

1. Can Microgaming/Jackpot City at all see every single spin of the free spins and that I hit the bonus game?

Help File

From the help file:

The Fly Fishing bonus game can be activated during the Free Spins bonus game. The Free Spins bonus game multiplier value does not apply to any wins in the Fly Fishing bonus game.

Edit: And not only can they see your spins, but you can too - including the bonus game.

Playcheck is your friend - be sure to click SHOW DETAILED STATEMENT ---> I haven't checked closely but I believe only winning free spins are shown (Bonus game definitely) in detail......

Also I'm not sure if this is the case with every single slot - Your Mileage May Vary.

Thanks to both the expert help I had from Path in PM and casinotimemike in a previous post I have understood that there has to be a help file somewhere inside the game.

I didnt find it in the big updated Microgaming first, but now I found it.

I checked the game at 7sultans instead, they have the old software and I found it there.

I then went back to Jackpot City and it took several minutes.. before I found it.

Its on the list!

The same question mark as you have outside the game..

It was easier in the old software.

Take a look at the pictures, the red arrow points out where it shows in the old software.

The help file is good, a pity I havent seen it before.

Then I wonder, with that good help file, why is the paytable so misleading?

Well, with all this help I am now a wiser man.
