A problem with Videoslots....what would you do if you were me?

First I still like Videoslots, and I still think it is a good casino.

But here is the problem I have. Do you remember the promo they ran on December? Giving away Go Pro Camera? I won the camera early December, I think it is 6th or 7th December. And I still didn't get the camera.

I have sent numerous PM to Dean. Videoslots-his name is Daniel, every time I got really vague answer from him.

New Zealand is far away from the most of the world, but there are hundreds of planes come here from all over the world every day. I did international online shopping many times. Most of time, I got the parcel within a week.

Monday last week, he told me he would give the tracking number for the parcel, and later that week he said the girl who placed the order is in holiday, so it's not that easy to get tracking number.

Monday this week, he said either he would get tracking number from the seller or he would re-send it for me. One way or another I would get a tracking number in 1,2 days. That promise is broken yet again.
A few hour later he sent another message that said he got the receipt so he would get the tracking number from the seller. But I still didn't get the tracking number.

I sent PM around 12 hours ago to ask if he got the tracking number, no answer so far.-In other circumstance, I would say 12 hours is too short to complain about no reply, but honestly, I'm really annoyed by now.

When I had a problem with a delivery from online shopping, it was not really hard to solve the issue. Just contacting the seller or the courier company itself always solved the issue.

I really don't understand why this issue is dragging for so long.

So here is the question. What would you do if you were me? I think I wait enough. I think I should ask them to compensate me because whatever the reason is they can't send me a camera that I won fair and square. Maybe they can send Amazon gift card that can be delivered by email.
If they say no to compensate me, should I apply for PAB?

Any opinion will be really helpful.

Thank you.

I just sent PM to Philip by the forum rule.

Yes, that was a good first move. You WILL get the reward, have no doubt. These items are often ordered via specialist 'gift' suppliers which aren't as fast as Amazon for example. You may find it's held up in customs or something.

Frustrating I know, but they'll do right by you.:)

Some couriers here in the UK have become notorious for poor service, losing parcels, even stealing them! It's the weak link in the online marketplace. It's possible that the supplier has scammed the promotions department of the casino and has taken the money, but not actually had the items in stock ready to send out, and is now employing delaying tactics in order to cover their own ass. If they are trying to make it seem they have sent it, but are really trying to buy time by blaming vague sources of delay like "NZ is so far away......" they will be unable to provide a tracking number as it's not yet with a courier. Even if it has made it to a courier, it could have been lost in their system, and rather than having to pay compensation, they will want to buy as much time as possible in the hope of finding it and delivering it late.

Amazon's courier lost FIVE of my packages in the run up to Christmas, and they were parts of orders, with the rest of the order turning up fine. It sounds like these GoPros were sent out over Christmas, which may have made it far more likely that things would go wrong. Maybe next time such prizes should be sent out after peak buying seasons to minimise the chances of things going wrong due to extreme loading on the couriers' systems.

Reading what you wrote was really surprise for me because I never had a big problem with online shopping.-had small problems sometimes of course- One time, the parcel was sitting in the warehouse of the courier company, but a couple of phone call-polite but with a little bit of not nice voice- made the delivery happen in 2 days after I called them.

If the seller is trying to scam the casino, I feel sorry for Videoslots, but I think if it's the case, the casino should stir up the seller really hard, because the casino paid for my camera before 10th December, and it's like almost 8 weeks ago now.

Hi sueyh,

I have contacted GoPro regarding getting your tracking number and I haven't got any reply from them yet. I will call them tomorrow to know more. Other members that have revived the camera late have said also informed me that it got stuck in the customs and that is why it got delayed.

You will have a new Pm from me tomorrow as soon as I get in touch with them.

Daniel

Thank you for your reply Daniel.
Though I don't think it is a problem with customs, if New Zealand customs decide to hold the parcel for whatever the reason is, they always notify the recipient. They don't hold the parcel for a few weeks without letting the recipient know.

Hopefully you can solve the issue quickly.

My GoPro did not arrive when expected, so I contacted Phil.

When he followed it up it was found it was not yet sent at all.

It was sent out shortly after that and arrived in a timely manner.

Hope your issue gets resolved quickly.

Thank you. I hope so too.

I think, like your case the seller even didn't sent the camera yet. I wish Dan. Videoslots chased them up more often and a little bit harder, but I understand he is quite busy.

Hopefully I can get the camera very soon.

Years ago when the original X-box came out I ordered one from Littlewoods, it was lost in the post but I was refunded the cost of the console.
What I'm saying is if something has gone wrong somewhere you'll get compensated in some way, especially from a reliable casino like Videoslots

This could be a mistake by the seller in not making a correct declaration of the content, resulting in customs holding the parcel for further checks. There should be no reason to confiscate or otherwise hold a GoPro device. If these have been bought direct from Go Pro, they should know better.

The other issue seems to be very poor customer service as you can't seem to get hold of the seller and/or the courier in order to find out what the problem is, let alone get it addressed.

8 weeks is a VERY long wait indeed, and is bound to cause discontent amongst the winners. It takes a mere 3 days to deliver a man to the moon, and that was in 1969. I would expect better from couriers in 2015.

I agree with you. I believe they will sort out one way or another.

Surely its been hold up somewhere, Dan is a machine him self lol but can only do so much, When I won I did not hear any think for a few day than a phone call from VS, They said they will get it of to me but may not be b4 xmas, I said thats fine not to worry, Next day I think xmas eve it was here :)

PAB would be a silly thing and just delay things even more, We are talking about a great site here and I am sure there just waiting on the tacking etc, I know its been a while and not good but now its bought to light I sure you be sorted in no time,

Where's My Missing Mail

Channel 4 Monday 1st, Should be a good whach

Online shopping means people increasingly rely on parcel firms to bring goods to their homes, but as the number of items delivered has risen, so have complaints about those companies involved. Morland Sanders reports on an undercover investigation into this the low-margin, high-volume business, where missing items, broken gifts and late deliveries are a growing problem

Normally i would say that Two weeks is the most i would bother waiting for something in the mail, but as this isn't something you have paid for directly, then maybe a month at most.
At the very least i would expect to be informed of any delays, they can't have given away so many cameras that they can't follow up with the winners.

After a month i would have told them to pay me the cash value of the camera.
8 weeks is way too long, and you still haven't received it...

I hope this gets a swift resolution for you now that the rep is on it.

promo gifts

I don't know why casinos don't use dhgate for promo items they can get there name printed on anything
and the buyer protection rocks items not there in 14 days cash back no issue i get alot of my small electronics and laptop adapters caddy's ect from there.

I thought they sourced products locally?
Nothing worse than having to pay tax/fees on gifts like this. With some of the couriers you can end up with a bill exceeding the product value...

Mine was sent direct from gopro, which was in a next country, still received in a day or two, No tax :)

@randomiam As it was direct from factory, so I guess the shipping options was not a choice, I have been sending parcels of for years and receiving and count on one hand how many probs I ran into, & I am talking thousands of parcels, My guess as it was near xmas and new year its been held up somewhere, Or deliverd to wrong house/ or stolen

Hi,

We did buy many of the GoPro´s from local stores in the the same country as the winner but we had hard times to find stores to buy from in some countries so we decided to use GoPro´s homepage since they deliver to the whole world almost. We did loads of orders from them and 9 of 10 worked out with any problems and sadly 1 of 10 had some delay or issues. But we will make sure that in the end that all the winners will receive their cameras.

Im pretty lucky if stuffs late or doesn't turn up i get refunded stuff goes missing alot when it goes through airports eg laptops jewelery and camera "fall out of bags " and "packaging got damaged and gold bars fell out " From a sellers point of view things suck ebay paypal combo is the worst. if there where less dodgy buyers out there id be happy to send my goods worldwide.

Thank you for everybody who reply my post.

Update here, surprisingly, GoPro has an office here in New Zealand, and Dan was told to contact the New Zealand office.

I have a feeling that the NZ office supposed to dispatch a camera, Dan sent me a receipt of a camera they purchased, and they were charged by NZ dollars, and also they were charged only 12 NZ dollars for shipping, I really don't think 12 NZ dollars can cover international parcel shipping.

Here is my thought, Gopro headquarters took the order-probably not in NZ, and sent the order to the NZ office for the delivery, and somehow the NZ office forgot about the order.

Anyway Dan said he would contact the NZ office, probably a little bit tough because of the time difference, but hopefully he can solve the issue very soon.
