Hey Everyone,

Very pleased to inform everyone that we had a £3.8million winner at bgo late last week. He popped the Beach Life progressive just 3 weeks after we launched it - jammy or what!

Here's a little video announcing the winner:

Huge congrats to the player involved and of course, he will get every penny transferred into his bank account within the next week or so!

Cheers
Paul

Edit - Messed up the subject, it's 3.8 not 3.6 :( Would appreciate an admin editing! Thx

I'm sure it starts off seeded somewhat by the casinos, and after that, each casino that offers that slot will contribute a % of each spin made on said slot to the progressive pool..that's why non-rogue casinos will pay out progressives in one lump sum rather than in installments per their T&C for max. weekly/monthly cashouts; because it's not their money to begin with. ;)

There was a case some years ago where a woman hit a progressive, and with the payment arrangements the rogue casino wanted to make, it would have taken her 39 years to receive her winnings. You can get more details here at CM in the Rogue section of the site.....IIRC, she settled for half of her winnings and the casino pocketed the rest - to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. The "manager" of said casino even went as far as to offer this "deal" using a throwaway email address, instead of one used for the casino, so there wouldn't be an e-paper trail of these events. Maybe the money went directly into his pocket, and probably not the casino's....or maybe it was the owner of the casino himself that made the offer. Maybe the software provider got a kickback from the casino, so they both came out winners. As mentioned above, not all of the progressive is initial seed money, as every time someone spins, money goes into the kitty.

Who knows what really happened? We will never know :(

Good work BGO on committing to pay the player in full. You've definitely provided a location that is safe for anyone interested in Playtech.

We're here to take over the world, didn't you know? The money is pre-contributed from wagers, it does cost us a hefty sum though make no mistake, 5 'Wilds' at 50p per line was a £50,000 win outside of the jackpot!

Just curious - Do you know for a fact if the % from each spin that's taken out for the progressive affects the RTP/payout %/whatever? It'd also be interesting to know if the RTG slots' major/minor JP works the same way in that regard.

WTG Cute commercial BTW:)

Wow, not only the jackpot but a massive payout in the game too. Added to that a casino that is going to pay out and quick, it doesn't get much better!

The RTP calculated does include the jackpot payout but without giving away sensitive details, the contribution for every £10 wagered on a spin of Beach Life is minute. If you have 10,000 people playing a game at any one time, all placing £10 wagers, you only need to take £0.03 from every player per minute to generate a jackpot increase of £5. That's £300 an hour, £4,320 per day and £1,576,800 per year. If you can spin once every 3 seconds, that's 20 spins per said minute per player, meaning £200 in wagers. So to get this level of jackpot over the course of a year, you're paying 0.00015% of your wagers towards the jackpot.

So like I say...minute. But it all adds up when everyone pays the same.

Just like to add these numbers are a fabrication, I have no idea how many people play Beach Life at any one time :)

Wow, that's only £1.4m off the highest jackpot win recorded on that slot right? When I first got into slots, Beach Life and Mega Fortune were always the two I kept an eye on. Always had a soft spot for it because of that. Congratulations to the lucky player!

Congratulations to the player in question and to Paul. Good casino bgo and you deserve this publicity :) Especially because of the pay player in full thing, that really deserves kudos considering some of the things I have read about playtech .

How about a reload bonus so we can all celebrate :D

also can we get a country for the winner? Or is that asking too much.

Cheers, fun4all.

Very nice, £10 a spin low is pushing abit far for my budget,

Is Apple paying your company Paul? For advertise there products :)

Paul, Paypal shows up as a deposit option for me - but when I click on it, the page merely refreshes? I'm guessing it's for UK players only?

Huge Kudos to you guys for this, makes a very welcome change.

What actually happens when someone hits such a progressive on a PlayTech slot? Now you guys are "in the know", could you tell us the mechanics?
I don't know if this has already been officially answered or not (it's a contentious subject here as I'm sure you're aware), but I've been away from Casinomeister quite a bit recently with family commitments and I'm a bit behind the times.
Do Playtech transfer £3.8m to you guys and entrust you to pass it on to the winner?

I assume so, otherwise our bank balance is about to take an almighty hit! To be honest I'm not entirely sure at the moment, it's more of a finance issue but we do state in our terms that we ask for up to 30 days to pay out anything over a certain amount, simply because making that kind of cash available takes time.

As for the Paypal question - yes UK only i'm afraid, we're fixing this, it shouldn't be displaying for anyone outside of the UK.

Cheers

Grats Paul!

Been checking in every now and then, cause i keep getting good offers, but still find no other payment options than Ukash... (the credit card didn't work for me) Any news there? Still mainly in Germany and as such Ukash is no option, but even when i am in Holland they are hard to come by.

Also noticed the "Beat the Boss" section is gone? And i did have some loyalty points, from the few Ukash deposit's i did, but they also seem gone.

Anyway, would really look forward to playing there on a regular basis, but it would need Neteller or something like that.

Neteller and Skrill have been mocked up into the cashier and they're in the dev schedule, I can't give an ETA at the moment though i'm afraid :(

Ukash will turn into paysafecard shortly too.

Loyalty points should have been transferred over so let me know your username and I can check it for you!

Ok, Paysafecard is better then nothing:) those are easily obtainable in Holland, although i can't use them whilst in Germany. Would be cool if you kept me, or us, in the loop if there's any sign of Neteller/Skrill being added.

I'll p.m. you my username right now, but it's probably not worth it

Playtech pays the progressive straight to the casino - it's usually instantaneously placed into the the player's account.
