The first ever ‘Mega’ win on Microgaming’s WowPot was hit by a lucky player at 32Red last week, with the UK based player scooping a massive £15,183,085.96 ( €17.5m ) a week last Wednesday ( 14th April 2021 ).
The unnamed player became the first player ever to hit the ‘Mega Jackpot’ after placing an £0.80 bet on Book of Atem: WowPot. The player is one of 93 EUR millionaires to be created on Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network, which has paid out more than €1.3 billion* across all games and jackpots to date.
Not only is the eight-figure sum the largest WowPot win of all time, eclipsing the €1,123,513.15 Major win triggered on Sisters of Oz™: WowPot in March 2021, but it’s also the third largest† award in the history of Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network.
As with all wins on Microgaming progressive network, the jackpot prize has been paid to the player in one lump sum. Take note other software providers, you know who you are!
Launched network-wide in September 2020, Egyptian-themed Book of Atem: WowPot was created exclusively for Microgaming by All41 Studios and was the second title to feature the four-tiered WowPot progressive jackpot. A total of €23 million has since been awarded through the game across all jackpot tiers, with one winner scooping a Major jackpot of €998,876.35* in March 2021.
WowPot spun onto the Microgaming progressive jackpot network last February with the release of Alchemy Gaming’s Wheel of Wishes, featuring a top prize pool seeding at an industry-leading €2 million. The jackpot now features in six diverse game creations from Microgaming’s network of exclusive independent studios, including the intriguing Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot from Just For The Win, and the stunning Queen of Alexandria™ WowPot from Neon Valley Studios.
Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network continues to go from strength to strength, with recent game additions including Atlantean Treasures™: Mega Moolah, developed by Neon Valley Studios, and Absolootly Mad™: Mega Moolah, developed by Triple Edge Studios, which play to the iconic Mega Moolah progressive jackpot.
With WowPot having returned to its starting seed of €2 million, Mega Moolah is now by some distance the industry’s largest jackpot**, currently approaching the €18 million* mark.
John Coleman, Chief Executive Officer at Microgaming, commenting on the jackpot win said: “What a phenomenal win – our third largest ever and the first Mega to drop on WowPot! Congratulations to the winning player, and of course to 32Red and Kindred Group, who have been such brilliant partners of Microgaming over the years.”
“I’d also like to thank All41 Studios for developing Book of Atem: WowPot, and Alchemy Gaming for playing a key role in building our WowPot jackpot. Here’s to many more wins together.”
While Neil Banbury, UK General Manager, Kindred Group, adding to Coleman’s comments, had this to say: “We’re overjoyed for our player, first and foremost. Congrats on this incredible win! Well done to Microgaming, too, for delivering the industry’s leading range of progressive jackpot games. WowPot comes with a cracking set of games and is now on par with Mega Moolah as one of the big hitters.”
