OK, before we start I know we have the CM ratings, but the criteria for my question here although related fall also into the realm of rules outside CM i.e. advertising/consumer legislation.

An example to start: If you watch TV ads. say for "your credit report FREE!" the most vital term has to be shown in the advert. In this case, your free credit report involves setting up a monthly direct debit which you have 28 days to cancel, thus getting the first months report free. The important fact about the direct debit is shown at the bottom. Similarly when gambling sites advertise bonuses on TV, they always mention a WR is necessary.

Now we know the UKGC is trying to move in the direction of bringing the same standards and ethics to gambling as are present in other areas of commerce, but are years behind and very reactive rather than proactive. One day it will happen, but for now we rely on the casinos' own efforts in certain areas.

So I am asking for your opinions on the most open and honest sites. Yes, many pay almost instantly and have great CS but on top of this which ones also do all or most of the following?:

1. Actually list linked sites prominently themselves and NOT via a link to a third party like the UKGC or other licensing authority (or mostly not at all!), when referring to SE'd player rules that could be vital to a new player cashing-out?

2. Will actually make an effort to spot details and block a new player for the reason above when SE'd at another casino in the group/license, i.e. have a proper effective group-wide monitoring in place?

3. Actually list linked sites in their bonus pop-up/banner terms if a player isn't allowed to take more than 1 SUB at any casino in the group?

4. Will actually have SUB cash-out limits listed in the bonus pop-up/banner terms to prevent the glut of recent posts whereby players have been shafted by winning large amounts and not spotting the bonus cash-out limit hidden away 3 metres down in the general terms?

5. DO have a proper deposit limit which is actually that and not a misdescribed loss-limit?

6. DO prominently display monthly/weekly cash-out limits?

I can't think of one site that does, yet this is the standard that would be expected of other businesses and will inevitably be required when the UKGC catches up with them. In other words when they eventually become aware of the major causes of disputes and act to prevent them in future. I know I'm in the UK, a country which has some of the most stringent consumer protection measures in the world and maybe expect too much, but these things I believe are important to you the players.

Many sites go above and beyond their licence requirements and have a very good code of ethics toward players. Some, even accredited, aren't as good. I know no site will be perfect as far as the above criteria go but in your opinion who are the closest?

I'm just fed-up with seeing supposedly good sites hitting players with bogus deposit limits, ridiculous SUB limits and unreasonable cash-out instalments.
 
Maybe of subject Mr Dunover but maybe comes into some sort of category regarding security.
A few weeks ago i was on holiday in Portugal.
Took the tablet with me and played at a few sites that i normally play at.
Only one contacted me to check if that was me playing from the different IP and that was Betat.
Tick in the box for me.
 
For me its and easy decision, Mr Green because they treat their players so well

I do agree with you Phil, I guess its always about how you treat the players, its because of the fact that the income that goes to these casinos are from our pocket. Some casino tend to be so rude, like they don't give the right amount that their player place, in hoping of winning. Before I play i make sure that it is a credible website since I don't wanna put my money on risk.

Back in early September this year I was in the Algarve myself, we had a couple of overcast/rainy days so I fired up the laptop for a few rounds of roulette/slotting and I was locked out of at least three accounts because I was in a different EU State!!! Unbelievable. They all said the same thing in chat - sorry, can't help you unless you log in from a UK IP!!

It's a "new rule" apparently which came in a little over a year ago?

Only Videoslots could oblige, with their chat rep simply adding Portuguese IPs to my "allowed list". Job done. Now I don't believe Videoslots are perfect in every way, but they certainly rose above the herd in this case!

For me it's not about security but about ease of use/convenience - casinos should get out of our faces and stop acting as enforcers of idiotic British government rules.
