Ontario To Open Up Online Gambling

The new Ford budget here in Ontario Canada has mentioned that it would like to open online casino-style gaming — currently only available through the government-owned Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. — to private companies. They also will try and get single game sports betting legal although it would require a change to the criminal code

Maybe there is hope in Ontario after all for us gamblers

That would be interesting, but if it means that we are limited to where we play then its no different than LCBO. They tell us where we can buy alcohol, now are they telling us where we can gamble?

I have choice of lots of sites. What kinds of player protections will they be putting into these sites, and who will be licensing them? Will most be handed out to his cronies with a lottery for a lucky few?

I'd rather see improvements to the OLG, with profits at least going to various charities.
