So I'm sure somewhere in this forum there was at one point in time maybe a Megasaur thread. Yet because I don't want to necro one that could be a few months old. I'm just going to post a few observations I have noticed.

Earlier today I was playing with a coupon, and triggered the bonus round. During this bonus round I remember reading somewhere in the rules that if you hit 3 of a kind scatter symbols. You'll get paid 10% of the advertised jackpot.

Well lo and behold I hit these 3 scatter symbols. Only to tell me that the bonus round was retriggered. So I thought ok, well maybe I have to select the volcanoes then after that I'll be told the windfall that I would get. Nope after that it added the spins to my counter, gave me a scatter pay and moved on.

So then I thought well it gets awarded at the end. So I waited for my pathetic bonus to end. Long story short, no 10% of the jackpot. Just my $13.00 I had won.

So then I finally re-read the rules that the jackpot has to be activated when the bonus round begins. So I'm thinking activated what does that mean, does that mean that RTG gets to choose, which bonus rounds qualify and which ones don't.

So I played on for a bit, got another bonus round. This time I paid attention to everything that happened on the screen. Right once I started the bonus round. Right where the jackpot was, it flashed real quickly inactive. So right there and then answered my question. That RTG can basically give you a big ole FU clause right before the bonus hits. That no matter how many volcanoes you hit. Your only going to retrigger the bonus round and nothing else.

I'm also maybe slightly curious if the casino has control over this or not, or if RTG really controls when the bonus round qualifies for a possible jackpot?

Does anyone else have a similar experience with this game? Any thoughts, opinions, comments?

I got the impression with this game that the jackpot option in the free spins was randomly activated or not.
One more reason to avoid this piece of garbage game.

BONUS ON MEG?

When the game first started and gave a coupon to play it, I played it for $5.00 per spin.

Somewhere along the way I got all five volcanoes, which triggered the "guaranteed" bonus, which was three more volcanoes for 6 extra spins---that was all there was to it.

Later I got a sudden Lightening storm that indicated I had to make 25 more spins before I could get the "guaranteed" bonus round----which was another 3 volcanoes for another 6 spins.

They say this could be random from 6 spins to 50(?). I never got more than 6 and never got the random symbols for the mega jackpot, whatever they are.

I did get a rather decent cashout from the whole game, but that was THEN.

Now whenever I try it, I find that the Green and Red Megasaurs are extremely scarce and three volcanoes have been nonexistant.

Things do change---I find it not worth playing anymore---anywhere.

I don't know who controls it, but it definitely seems controlled.

Just my thoughts.

Controlling when a bonus round allows a jackpot win is no different to having a backend preset jackpot trigger point. In either case, you can't win the jackpot until the software decides you can.

The latter is a common and accepted method of jackpot play that nobody seems to have an issue with.

Megasaur is as "rigged" or "controlled" as any other jackpot slot.

In any case, the game rules are quite clear. If one doesn't like them, one has other choices of game.

OK HERE IS MY PROBLEM WITH THIS: If I am contributing to a jackpot then how can they deactivate it? Something does not sound right. Another reason to avoid RTG new game/ the last 5 I think that they came out with have been nothing but miss pays and problems. Sad what happened to a good branded software? OH I know mostly played by USA so they have our money so why bother to actually make a good game.

I see what you're getting at, but, as I said, it is no different to playing a jackpot slot where the trigger point is pre-determined i.e. if the trigger point is $10,468 and you're playing when the jackpot is $9,000 you practically cannot win it at the time...even though you are still contributing to the pool.

It's just a different slot mechanic at work. IMO it's no better or worse than any other jackpot slot, including RTG Random jackpots where the more you bet the more chance you have of hitting. Nothing is equal in love and slots
