I dont know, I first want to say I am not being sarcastic when I ask this nor do I have a motive. I honestly didnt realize this until a little bit ago and wanted to ask why (except for affiliates or other website owners)

This is for gamblers only I guess: OMG, I cant figure out how to word this without getting someone mad lol. I know, Ill give an example and then ask ok?

I was reading posts and saw something about a WOL. I didnt know what it was and asked someone (dont even remember who now, honestly). That person said winneronline, go check it out. I swear my hand to God I dont remember who so if it was you, this has nothing to do with my ? lol.

I went to this WOL and realized it was the same kind of site as here. I thought it was maybe a bonus site or casino game reviews, you know something that Bryan doesnt necessarily accentuate in here. But there were posts just like in here, by gamblers asking ?'s etc..

Then I notice that many ppl in here are also in there as well as other sites besides WOL asking and posting the same things as in here. Is there a particular reason why someone would spend so much time on the same type of sites when you have everything you need in here?

I dont mean this as a knock down to WOL, honestly, that site looks nice too. I understand if you own a business that is gambling related, for example Bingo...he does the tours and needs to spread out to give word about his business, but what about ppl like me who just gamble? Is this normal? Am I naive and missing out on something by just staying here. I feel satisfied here and dont feel the need to have posts all over the place in diff sites like this.

Again, some ppl are gonna misinterpret (sp) this and take it the wrong way but its not meant that way. Maybe Im missing out, Hell, maybe bryan even belongs to these other sites . Im just trying to understand why? I know I could join these other sites and make posts about getting more review jobs but I just dont feel right about it. I know I could be wrong and missing out but I dont understand the double and triple posts by one person on diff sites

Can someone shed some light. Am I missing out or being Naive about being totally loyal to just one site? Maye thats why Im not gettting more jobs, but there is a price to pay for loyalty and maybe this is the price I choose to pay

Thanks! and please...I am not talking about anyone person or knocking others who do belong to other sites. Im just curious!:)

I have a possible answer.

If you are interested in a certain topic, why limit yourself to one site? If you limit yourself to one site you only get so many answers or so much information, but if you go to a few sites, much more information.

I only belong here because I get all I need from here, but I am a small gambler compaired to most.

Example.....When you shop, you don't limit yourself to just Sears right?

Sorry, babs, but what does it mean "WOL"? I was failed to find correct answer

I think Just Play sums it up pretty well here.

That, and the fact that there may be posters on other sites that are not members here, and a wider range of opinion is therefore possible.

Nothing wrong with belonging to other sites in my view, although one venue will probably be the main preference for a player.

Well said Just Play.
WOL was ok is still a goodone because GM is running it now.
And it was even better when Max was doing it and than he came here  and a great move on his part I think.
I use it because I have had many sign-ups from that place.and this is why I go to WOL still.
And it's like CM's place here I love it alot and in the past CM had a Promo area here too that I got some sign-ups here as well. And the people that did are still here as well.
Thanks Babs for thinking of me in your post  Love Ya
I also think CM's place is well run and it comes with some great people here.
Thanks
Tom

Fair question babs, and i've had the same thought before as well. I've gone over to the other sites, plenty of them, and not meaning any disrespect to the other sites, i personally feel everything i need is right here in a very user friendly format. The forum here is the most active and educational and there seems to be a lot less emphasis on "promoting" casinos. rather, there seems to be much more emphasis here on being a "watchdog / player advocate" than on any other site i have visited.

as far as i know, some of the other sites do offer incentives and "gimmicks" (outside of special bonuses for their members, like tempting tuesday at inet) with casinos that they have a relationship with (like special points, auctions for bonuses, etc) ...so that may be one reason to join another forum. also, it would make sense that affiliates / webmasters would want to widen their market and information base by being a part of many communities so i don't see a problem with that either. You can also argue that more viewpoints are available if you have more sources, but our base of knowledgeable members here is pretty vast.

And IMHO, i don't think other sites go through as much trouble to accredite casinos and provide a legitimate AND efficient course of action if there are problems. I think it all comes down to where people feel comfortable and some people feel more comfortable at one place, others like to roam. ;)

Good point

Is a good question. I think for me being I'm more of a reader than a poster, I enjoy the diversities found in peoples post at different forums. All the different views and opinions given. You could come here and get one point of view and find that the opinions will be totally different at a different forum.

I would also say though, each forum provides different subject matter. Like here at casinomeister you will find information and post more about the casino industry as a whole, while other webites may focus on the same issues, the information provided could be a little different or something you had not found here.

It never hurts to surf the net no matter what your interest or likes are, there's allot to see and read and many people that have many different opinions and can be quite interesting for the reader and informative.

Thanks Guys

All of you made good valid points. I was just wondering because sometimes I can spend most of my time here and cant even begin to think where you find time to go elsewhere but thats because i like to read everything and others may not need to and just come to certain sections and find other resources for information on other things that CM doesnt cover

Like I said, no motive for the question :) Im thinking cause I have OCD when I find something I like I hate to make a change especially if Im comfortable like I am here.

And your right Just Play, for most ppl LMAO, when I find a store I like, I seem to go there over and over because Im familiar with the prices and the aisles, thats just me and I limit myself quite a bit because of it lol

Anyway., thanks again for your valuable input everyone!

I believe that most people go around different forums. Trying to get more info, meeting others with the same interests.... But after awhile you find that some of the other sites are just crap and you go to the ones you know will give you good info.

It seems that it used to be - open a forum to share interests with others and then it just evolves. Now people are starting forums for the sheer monetary considerations (as Seinfeld would say "not that there's anything wrong with that") Once in awhile it is just nice to stumble to a site that the people that runs it really have passion for what they are doing.
Personally, I think that's what makes this site great. The other's .... well i stopped going to most of them.

As already stated above, different forums have different 'flavors'. I'm a member at lots of different ones for various reasons, for example at WOL webmasters like me are allowed to make posts advertising our sites & particular casinos. Some of the others are more 'specialized' in topics I'm interested in, but which don't get discussed here much, such as Roulette systems, Fruit Machines, Sports Betting & 'bonus abuse'.

I personally rate CasinoMeister as the best of all of them, and consider this to be my 'home' forum, but a little variety is the spice of life, eh? ;)

There was a time many moons ago that WOL was the biggest online casino forum. Bigger than CM if i recall correctly. I seem to remember some changes were made that caused alot of people to quit posting there (Max probably remembers). Anyway WOL was a hopping forum in the old days. Now it is not. CM is by far the largest that i am aware of now.

I see no reason to go elsewhere as this is where most of the action is.

If you look at any common interest, there are many online discussions forums on the subject. This is not surprising, as some people make websites & forums about their interests. It's similar with casino sites. There are tens of thousands of casino-related websites out there, and significant portion of them choose to have discussion forums. All have their own style and focus. Some are like Casinomeister, and some are not.

There are countless reasons why someone might choose to join more than one site. For example, if you wanted to make an affiliate site, you might look at a forum more focussed on affiliate stuff . If you wanted to improve your poker game, you might look at a forum more focussed on poker. If you were interested in land-based casinos, ...

There are different reasons to hang out at different forums. If a person gets all they need at one, why bother going anywhere else?

At one forum I may learn things that will never be discussed here, because of the nature of that forum. At another I might engage heavily with people of special gambling interests in one topic and never be derailed. At another I might post dozens of times mainly to support the host... to keep diversity alive just in case an issue comes up that the forum would be best equipped to handle, or simply out of respect for its contributions in the past.
The web and forums and social networking, and facebooks, etc are evolving. But one thing is for sure. Diversity on the internet is best.

It all depends on what the person wants.

My primary goal is information. What are the casinos up to? Who's good? Who's bad? What's up w/the US gov't and the UIGEA? Are casinos cashouts delayed? Is customer service improving? Lax? Crappy? Are US players having problems -- where and with what? Most of that I find here, but sometimes I find hints (crumbs, if you will) of casino problems mentioned at other boards.

I think Casinomeister is tops -- the ultimate in information -- and has been for years. I search the web for gaming news, I pop in at forums... I want news, information... The social atmosphere here is comfortable for me, so every now and then I open my mouth and squeak.

I bop around at a few forums -- most times never posting. With the UIGEA, many online gambling specific forums (especially the EZBoard/Yuku boards) are now defunct or nearly deserted and many have been removed from my bookmarks.
