Well, the US is out. :(

But which one of these two are going to make the quarter finals??

This should be a good game. Everyone I know here is convinced that England will be heading home tomorrow.

Go Deutschland

Go Deutschland
:lolsign: The german media are unfortunately too arrogant again :D

Very sad for the U.S. boys, i saw this match and must say, on the extention on this game it comes really not much more from the U.S. boys, so Ghana won this game deserved.

If germany plays today afternoon so bad as on the last two matches, they would be the next team where are going home.

I can't give any prediction, should be win the best team.

How could the ref and linesman not see that Lampard's shot was over the line. England playing well and trailing.

this referee wont be working again .......he better go looking for a new job:eek::eek:

What a game and a regular Goal not given by the referees, England surely sad.

well played germany although i have to say that englands was shocking to say the least germany played well though pity about bad ref , but hay good luck to germany !:p

The outcome might have been quite different if the referee hadnt slept when England "evened" the score to 2:2
Anyway congrats to Germany

Unbelievable, really.

I wll never forgive the ref for that appalling decision.

He should be put down to rest, f*****g prick.

I will never forgive the ref for that appalling decision.
And I will never forgive Crapello for his...

Apart from his ludicrous insisting that players play in different positions to where they normally do best, why in God's name did he leave Rooney on when even Stevie Wonder could see he just was not performing, and at the same time leave England's top recent goal-scorer Crouch just keeping the bench warm in EVERY match... :sob:

People are asking "where do England go from here?".
Well apparently Crapello has just signed a new contract and is not going to quit, so I think England should not go anywhere - just stay at home and save the nation any more embassasment... :(

KK

It annoys me whe officials are so blind... At 2-2 going into the break, the strategy may have been different for England - Instead they were pushing for an equaliser - GOALS CHANGE GAMES

Rooney was PATHETIC - I second that KK - Why on earth did Capello keep him on?

Upson for Carragher? - Upson and Johnson dont make a good combo! Terry was just as bad.. stupid passes and not concentrating.. Johnson should be a winger not a defender...

I am a Liverpool supporter, however Johnson is not needed at the back - Crouchie may have done something better up front - Heskey is not a good striker - he is past it...

Also, James is one of the worst keepers for England... One mistake by the previous keeper and he gets excluded.. Poor choice by the manager

His decision was right:

You have to admit, Germany played well, after all!

How did Heador manage to thank the post. I could only press WTG!:

Fellas, it may have been humiliating but now England really needed the wake-up call. It's obvious they are too slow otherwise they wouldnt have shipped away that many goals. The team needs a younger generation for the 2014 WC and fast. The Championship is the place to start. Good footballing opportunities and away from the $$$ of the Premier League.

Why do the Brits and others try it again and again? It is like a wise man said before:

"Soccer is a game for 22 people that run around, play the ball, and one referee who makes a slew of mistakes, and in the end Germany always wins." Gary Lineker

IMO the Germans were the better team on the day, as the 4-1 score indicates - the disallowed goal was an awful reflection on the officials, but really just a distraction when the final score was totted up.

The England team did not really sparkle in their few appearances at this World Cup, and the whys and wherefors are going to debated for a long time. In Capello's shoes I would also be making public my intention to stick around for the duration of my contract, which I understand will cost the Brit football association something like GBP 12 million if they want to get rid of him by breaking the contract.

It's going to be interesting to watch how the Germans shape from here on in - they're a young, energetic and I think impressive team.

Watched the Spain vs. Portugal match which was more exciting than the England vs. Germany clash imo with a lot of skill and energy on display. I rather thought that Ronaldo Cristiano looked a bit under-employed on the Portuguese team!

...The news of Germany's win at football against England in the 1970 World Cup very quickly reached a Himalayan base-camp where members of an International climbing team were resting.

The German leader of the expedition on hearing the 'good news' of Germany's win, over the camp radio, strolled over to an English member of the team: "I see we have beaten you at your National Sport.",

The dry reply being: "Ah yes, but we beat you at yours – twice."

Friday night's clash between Ghana and Uruguay was a real nail-biter, although it featured rather more physicality than one would expect in a game where skill and tactical precision are supposed to be the principal talents (although gymnastics and thespian ability also seem to play a big role<grin>)

Went into extra time tied, and then right at the end of extra time a penalty sitter that would have settled the game in Ghana's favour was - quite incredibly - missed.

That sent them into a penalty shootout which Uruguay won. What a game - and plenty of those little coloured cards flashed!

Tonight it's the one everyone's been waiting for as Germany and Argentina clash in Cape Town, where it looks as if the weather is holding and should be dry, if rather cold.

I can hardly believe that Brazil has been bundled out of this World Cup!
