Netherlands vs Spain

I'm thinking of rooting for the Dutch since if Spain wins, we won't hear the end of it (FIFA champs...EUFA champs...)

Spain 2-1 Netherlands....

Spanish team is really classy, however; i hope they will not regret benching Fernando 'El Nino' Torres in favour of Pedro....

Truly bizarre - he's even getting death threats :p

Haha. Some people really do have no life LOL.

If Spain can keep Robben and Schneider quiet, then I fancy them to win it but don't really mind who wins. Just as long as we don't have to spend 90 minutes watching Robben and Capdevilla auditioning for the death scene in Swan Lake, I'll be happy. A few goals would be nice too.

If I was gonna put money on anything, it would be Van Bommel getting a red card

We had a family discussion during dinner about who to root for.

Seems like the Dutch are always flooding the Autobahn during holiday season. They can't drive - rarely pull over to the right. Quite annoying - so we're leaning more towards Spain. :p

As a punter(and a huge fan of soccer in general, having been both a junior/senior squad national player with some odd caps and with a referee resume beyond even that), I was pleased to see such an open game. The head ref had his work cut out for him and did a great job considering.

In my days :D, twenty years ago, it didn't look like this at all. You could make money(if you were prone to betting) on each and every one of the WC games, including qualifiers as long as you stayed with the 'superior' teams. A 1-0 victory would be a good bet and if you added a 2-0 in the group stages, you'd have a live ticket until late in the second half.

All in all, Spain was the better team and got the job done. Kudos!
