Stake Casino Review

Non-responsive to customer complaints

By Alex Smith, Last updated Feb 22, 2024

Casinomeister's Verdict

Stake Casino could be a market leader in the crypto gambling niche since this online casino and sports betting platform caters to players from all over the world. Unfortunately, they are unable to chew gum and walk at the same time. They were placed in the Warning Section of our forum since they have serious internal problems dealing with customer complaints.

Also their player KYC and Responsible Gaming seems to be a bit weak. Please scroll down and read the review for further information.

Live from Max's Desk

Unfortunately, things have not gone well with Stake. There have been a number of complaints on the forums and we’ve also received PAB complaints against them.

They appear to not be interested because after weeks of emailing and Skyping them we still have no response regarding a potentially serious self-exclusion failure at the casino.

A Casinomeister Warning has been posted against them. You Can read this here: Casinomeister Warning: Stake Casino

First Impression

If they ignore us, they will do the same to you if you happen to have any issues with their operation. Avoid this casino – there are plenty of better ones to chose from.

BANKING AND PAYMENT METHODS

Stake Casino is a crypto-only casino, and this means you can only make deposits and withdrawals – and play – in cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to make deposits and withdrawals using fiat currencies – although you can choose to have your balance displayed in fiat, if you prefer.

Currently, the deposit methods available at Stake Casino include Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP, TRON and EOS. Latest additions are USDT and BNB.

There are no fees attached when making deposits, and as soon as the Blockchain registers one confirmation (6, for Litecoin) the funds will be made available in your account right away.

The entire deposit process at Stake Casino is very simple and straightforward, and the site makes it super easy to make deposits. They also provide detailed guidance on how to use and buy crypto, if you’re new to it and need a little help getting started.

Withdrawal Speed

You can make withdrawals in the same way you make a deposit – and one of the major benefits of playing at Stake Casino is the fact that withdrawals are always instant. The website processes withdrawals automatically, so you don’t need to wait around for a site representative to manually process your withdrawal.

There also aren’t any withdrawal limits that we’re aware of – and we continually hear of players having fantastic experiences when it comes to withdrawing winnings at Stake Casino.

Responsible Gaming

Unfortunately, Stake Casino doesn’t allow you to set deposit or loss limits; this is because they’re a mismanaged casino, it seems it’s simply not feasible to offer such limits at a crypto site. However, they do have a self-exclusion function for those who feel gambling is becoming problematic. Here’s what they say about it:

“To self-exclude means to stop betting or gambling for a set time. Self-exclusion can be temporary or permanent.

By requesting one of our self-exclusion time periods on offer you agree to the following terms and conditions, which will be effective from the minute you receive a confirmation email of your chosen self-exclusion, this email will be sent to the email address used to register your account only and will display the date of self-exclusion completion.

Requests made via our live chat function will not be actioned. However, a customer support agent will direct you to our customer support email service.

On receipt of an email request for account closure, the requested account and any linked accounts will be placed on our first stage, 24-hr cooling off period which will disable your account or accounts, allowing no gambling activity. Once this time has passed; while your account or accounts remain closed, a customer support agent will inform you of the 1-week, 1-month, 6-months and permanent self-exclusions available. There will be no variation of these time periods. To proceed with this process, we will require an email response. If we do not receive a response within a further 24-hrs, your account will be reopened and confirmed by email.

If after reviewing our self-exclusion options you decide you would like to proceed with a permanent self-exclusion, you will be required to set an exclusion period when prompted. On occasion, we might decide to place an account on a short self-exclusion period if we believe it to be needed and or beneficial to the customer. This will be communicated by email; the above terms and conditions will apply.

When you request, or we deem it necessary, to add a self-exclusion, all remaining funds left in your account will be returned to you manually.”

Unfortunately – we have a serious complaint about a self exclusion issue on their Curacao “licensed” site. And they could not care less about it.

Avoid this casino – it is not recommended at Casinomeister.

Customer Support

Customer support fails not only us but the players as well. We have a number of complaints here at Casinomeister which failed to get much of a response from their support team, much less anyone at all.

Other sites might be raving about them, but if you run into any issues at all – especially with their crypto sites, you are on your own.

KYC

Stake Casino is one of the few crypto casino sites to very rarely ask players to upload proof of their ID and address. While KYC checks are less common at Bitcoin casino sites, Stake Casino appears to have somewhat of a reputation for not carrying out these checks.

Why this is, we’re not too sure. There are plenty of Bitcoin casino sites that do carry out KYC checks regularly – but often, they’re only requested when players go to make a withdrawal. The fact that Stake Casino doesn’t usually ask for KYC documents may be problematic for some players – those with gambling problems, for example – but it can also be refreshing for those sick and tired of having to constantly upload documents.

WARNING: not verifying ID is a red flag – it also violates most licensing jurisdiction regulations – even the less stringent ones like in Curacao.

Brand games

Providers

They offer games from Belatra, Betsoft, BGaming, Big Time Gaming, Boongo, ELK Studios, Endorphina, GameArt, Hacksaw Gaming, iSoftBet, Nolimit City, NetEnt, Microgaming, Playson, Relax Gaming, Spinomenal, Thunderkick, Yggdrasil and Evolution Gaming.

All of the games available at Stake Casino can be played in so-called instant play mode, and most are mobile-optimized too, so you can enjoy playing them from your mobile devices.

Slots

Dead or Alive II is one of NetEnt’s most successful releases in history, and it’s a sequel to dead or alive – a game that was first released all the way back in 2009. Dead or Alive II has become iconic in the online gambling world thanks to its insane volatility and win potential. During the bonus round – of which there are 3 to choose from – the highest variance option gives players the chance to win over 100,000 times their bet, so it’s no surprise to see it’s become one of the most played online video slots in history.

Twin spin is one of the most recognisable video slots on the planet, and despite the fact that the game doesn’t contain a conventional free spins bonus round, the unique linked reels mechanic offers up some pretty insane win potential. On each spin, between two and five of the reels are guaranteed to land showing identical symbols, and thanks to the fact that the game is a 243-ways-to-win video slot, landing even a full screen of the lowest value symbol guarantees a big payout. Twin Spin is just one of NetEnt’s many video slots you will be able to enjoy while playing at this online casino.

Dragonz is a 5-reel, 3-row video slot from Microgaming, and the game uses 243-ways-to-win. You can spin the reels from just 0.15 credits per spin, and there’s a number of bonuses and features, including four different bonuses and features bonuses; once you’ve triggered 20 bonuses, you can choose which of the four bonuses and features you’d like to play.

You can find these games at their competitor sites. No need to play them here.

Live Casino

Within the live dealer casino, you will find a huge selection of titles to choose from, including casino table games like Roulette, Blackjack, and Baccarat, to more unusual variants of these classics like Lightning Roulette and Lightning Baccarat. The developer has also created a number of gameshow styled games which includes Monopoly Live, Crazy Time and Deal or No Deal Live.

You can easily and quickly enter the live dealer casino by simply hitting the live casino button on the main game navigation menu.

Table Games and Video Poker

Whether you’re playing with Bitcoin, Litecoin – or any of the other cryptos offered at the website – all of the casino table games are available to play in instant-play mode and you’ll find a plethora of different types of casino table games too, so there’s a huge amount of variety.

Along with casino games, Stake Casino also offers a decent selection of video poker, scratch games – and, as you’ll see below – Stake Original games developed by Stake Casino themselves!

WARNING: Press time 5 December 2022 – casino upgraded to Not Recommended.

Progressive Jackpots

Strangely, Stake Casino doesn’t have a dedicated tab on their main game navigation menu for progressive jackpot games – and this did surprise us, as virtually all other game categories you could think of are listed.

About the Team and History

Stake Casino was established back in 2017, making them – when compared against many online casinos – a relatively new brand. However, the site has become a prominent name in the online gambling industry, despite a somewhat secretive nature about them.

When it comes to licensing, Stake Casino is licensed in Curacao for their bitcoin brand. Thye also carry a license from the UKGC which is odd since their operations in Curacao violate their UKGC’s counterpart.

WARNING: Press time 5 December 2022 – casino upgraded to Not Recommended.

Complaints and Track Record

We have a number of unanswered complaints. They are either aloof or completely disorganised. Avoid this casino unless you could not care less about being paid out or not.
