Ultimate Gaming to provide online poker for Reno's Peppermill and affiliated casinos
Nevada online poker provider Ultimate Gaming has clinched a deal with the five-venue Reno, Sparks and Wendover-based Peppermill land casino group to provide online poker services, substantially increasing the potential player pool it provides.
Station Casinos-owned Ultimate Gaming will become the online destination for the poker activities of the five Northern Nevada land operations embraced by the agreement, and Ultimate Gaming will be allowed to market to the customers of the five land operations, with the Peppermill companies sharing in the revenues generated by their players.
Players at the five Peppermill properties, located at Reno, the Western Village in Sparks, and the Rainbow, Peppermill and Montego Bay casinos in Wendover, will be able to deposit money for online poker entertainment and cash out winnings at all five venues.
This is a similar arrangement to that existing for 17 Station land casinos in southern Nevada which are associated with Ultimate Gaming.
Ultimate Gaming CEO Tobin Prior said the deal with Peppermill widens the scope for his company, making it better able to compete with rivals like Caesars Entertainment's WSOP.com. He said that he expects other Nevada companies involved in online poker will forge similar agreements.
The launch to Peppermill punters is contingent on that group being approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission; the company has already achieved preliminary approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
There are currently three online poker operators in the intrastate Nevada on line poker market: UltimatePoker, Caesars WSOP.com, and South Point's Real Gaming.
In addition to its own online poker activities, Ultimate Gaming also operates the online wagering platform for the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
