The highly anticipated Canadian Gaming Summit, renowned as the premier gaming and betting event in the country, will present an in-depth exploration of financial practices within the Canadian market through its dedicated ‘Payments & Compliance’ conference track.
Taking place on the final day of the summit, Thursday, 15th June, the ‘Payments & Compliance’ track will provide delegates with an opportunity to engage in discussions on various topics related to financial institutions, the role of payment technology in user experience, alternative currencies, and collaboration between the industry and the Federal Government to modernise AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Regulations.
Kicking off the conference track will be a panel titled ‘Integrating cashless systems across products: omni-channel technology paving the way for customer choice and compliance/security.’ This panel will explore the pressure faced by land-based casinos to transition to fully cashless payment and reward systems, and the potential of omni-channel payment systems as a viable solution.
The panel will feature industry experts including Bob McDonald (Technology Lead, River Cree Resort), Nasr Sattar (VP Innovation Group, NRT Technology), Lindsay Slader (SVP Compliance, GeoComply), and Tamara Tenenbaum (SVP of Business Development and Managing Director-Canada, Sightline Payments).
The panel will delve into the question of whether complete cashless systems are desirable for businesses and whether customer preference should always be prioritised.
Another engaging panel in the agenda is ‘The world of gaming finance in Canada,’ which will highlight strategies for seamless collaboration between companies and financial institutions, as well as public and private investors, to finance Canadian operations.
Esteemed finance leaders including Scott Secord (Partner, Cardinal Sports Capital), Julian Kolb (Vice President, BFL Canada), Aadam Tejpar (Partner, Corporate and Securities, Segev LLP), and Dani Lipkin (Managing Director Global Innovation, TMX Group) will share their expertise, with Mark Silver (Founder & CEO, The Parleh Group) moderating the panel.
Exploring the crucial topic of cybersecurity, the panel ‘Cybersecurity: managing risk in a brand new market’ will discuss the lack of strategies employed by new online operators to combat cybercriminals and hackers.
Panelists Sunil Chand (VP Cyber & Information Security, OLG), Jarvis Pelletier (VP IT & Gaming Systems, SIGA), David Brace (Director of Innovation, Continent8), and Carmi Levy (Director of Comms, Step Software) will draw insights from lessons learned by land-based operators and other industries in protecting revenue, reputation, and most importantly, customers.
The conference track will also feature dynamic and thought-provoking panels on innovative finance, compliance, customer experience (CX), and the critical role of payments in acquiring new customers and fostering loyalty.
The ‘Payments & Compliance’ conference track at the Canadian Gaming Summit promises to deliver valuable discussions and insights, addressing key aspects of financial practices and compliance in the Canadian gaming industry.
