Meister Meeting 2023

Well I arrived back from London after a brief 24 hour stay which saw me head to Waxy O’Connor’s just off Leicester Square and the return of the annual Meister Meeting held on Tuesday 7th February.

This being the first ‘official’ one, since the Covid pandemic decided to try and screw up all of our lives for a couple of years.  Meaning for many months we were not even allowed to leave our own homes, unless going to buy some fruit and veg from the local Sainsburys!

Back in the middle of December last year Bryan announced on the forum that the Meister Meeting for 2023 was a go, much to the delight of several members of the Casinomeister community who have missed out on free beer and food, plus the superb music on offer.

It has to be said it was a great turn out with many old faces and new in attendance. Personally for myself it was a great pleasure to finally meet in person Duncan from BetBlocker, who many of you will know as the founder of The Pogg.

Over the past five years my friendship with Duncan has grown considerably and I regard him as one of a handful of people that works within iGaming as a true friend. What he has setup in the form of BetBlocker is truly admirable and he is certainly ‘paying it forward’ as a result.

Talking about BetBlocker, I will be writing a piece for Casinomeister in the near future and demonstrating how it really does work. Of course as I still work within iGaming, I can’t just install it on my main machine, as that would mean I could no longer work! However, I have picked up a decent old iMac for £100 recently, which is a perfect candidate to receive the ‘BetBlocker’ treatment!

Several recipients of the just announced Casinomeister Awards for 2022 were in attendance, including Karolina from the Legends Group of Online Casinos ( Casinomax, Roaring 21 et al ), Renee from Rewards Affiliates ( Aztec Riches to name but one of numerous casinos ) and the recipient of the Forum Member Achievement Award, Goatwack was there to pick up his tankard!

On my part many Guinnesses were consumed, good conversations were had and of course I took advantage of the food laid on.

As well as meeting for the first time forum member Gonzo Fonso and  forum old timer KasinoKing for the first time in what seems like several years.

It was also great to catch up with Elliot and Tom from First Look Games, my fellow Casinomeister mods LadyJelena, Neilw, Dunover and a whole host of other people.

Here’s to next year and the Meister Meeting 2024!
