Verdict
Slotmill is one of the few gems out there when it comes to online slots. They are a relatively young company, but are run by some of the most experienced people in the business. They strive to have the highest RTP for available to players – which is really refreshing. I am looking forward to seeing Slotmill grow over the upcoming years.

Slotmill is one of the newest game developers to appear in the online gambling world and despite their relatively small size they’ve done a pretty good job – so far – of ensuring that all of their games are appealing to both players and online gambling operators. In this review we’re going to be looking at what this new software provider has to offer – and why Slotmill games are starting to feature at more casinos.
Slotmill was established fairly recently, and like many slot development companies they’re based in Sweden; their offices are in the nation’s capital, Stockholm. Lucky Lucifer
Lucky Lucifer is one of Slotmill’s most popular video slots, and, as the name suggests, the game is themed around the devil, Lucifer. From the moment you first load up the video slot from Slotmill you’ll notice that the software provider really has spared no expense when it comes to making everything look as good as possible; the graphics are superb and all the imagery renders in full HD. The game is set on 5 reels and there’s some fairly decent win-potential to be found in the base-game, it’s fair to say. The major wins, however, typically come in the bonus round which is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. During the bonus round you can win up to 666X your bet – so while it’s a far-cry from the 100,000X wins we’re seeing from other game developers like NetEnt and Pragmatic Play, it’s a nice little amount for most. The video slot also features a bonus buy option although this feature is no longer available for players from the UK.

Star Spell
Star Spell is another hugely popular game from Slotmill, and while it’s not offered at as many online casinos as Lucifer’s Luck, it’s slowly starting to find its way into more sites – and we expect it to continue rising in popularity as the software provider continues to grow. The game, as the name indicates, is set in outer space, and you’ll see HD star symbols appealing on the reels. During the base-game the action takes place on a 4-row, 5-reel format and you can play from between 0.1 and 100 credits per spin. There’s 10 fixed paylines and these are active at all times. The expanding wilds are the most exciting feature during the base-game, and they can land on reels 2, 3 or 4. When they land, they become sticky and a re-spin is awarded. If you manage to land another wild reel it will also stick in place and an additional re-spin will be awarded. This process continues until you land all three widls or until you fail to land another. Unfortunately, there isn’t a free spins or “pick me bonus” to be found in Star Spell, but there is a pretty nifty little bonus the game developer’s have built into the base-game; if you manage to land two sticky wilds your total win will be multiplied by 2X, while landing three wilds will see your win multiplied by 3X!

Vikings Creed
Vikings Creed is one of Slotmill’s more volatile video slots and this is seen immediately in the fact that it’s possible for players to win up to 5,000X their stake on the game. During the base-game there’s an identical mechanic to that we just looked at in Star Spell, and this sees re-spins awarded and multipliers activated when you manage to land wilds on the middle three reels. However, this video slot also has a free spins bonus round and this is triggered by landing three of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Doing so awards 6 free spins and during these free spins any sticky wilds that land remind sticky for the duration of the free spins!

Perhaps the most popular video slot to come from Slotmills’ development lab, Vegas Gold is a 15-reel slot – yes, you heard correctly; 15 reels – during which 6 of these reels are unlocked when re-spins are awarded. There’s quite a lot going on, and this high variance video slot offers players the chance to win up to 5,000X their stake! Most of the action in this fast-paced video slot is found in the free spins bonus round which is triggered by landing two scatter symbols on the six reels that become unlocked during the re-spins. Thunder Wheel
Thunder Wheel is a very high variance video slot from Slotmill and it’s also one of their few games to offer win-potential of up to 10,000X the total bet; this Greek-inspired game takes place on a 4-reel, 4-row layout and there’s 256 betways active on every spin. There’s a mini feature present during the base-game, and this is known as the random wild feature. Wildfire was the first release by Slotmill in their ‘classics’ series – and, as you can probably tell from the name, the game differs from most online slots in that it’s not quite as volatile; in fact, Slotmill themselves state that it’s a medium variance game. The joker symbol is the wild symbol during the base-game and this, in combination with the re-spin feature offers up some decent win-potential in the base-game.
