WAR BREAKS OUT ON NOSEBLEED TABLES
4 September 2009
Full Tilt has seen some hectic online
high-stakes cash game action over the past 24 hours
MarketPulse reports that war appears to have broken out
on the virtual tables at Full Tilt Poker over the past
24 hours with giant pots won and lost. Just about the
only big online high stakes players absent from the
action fest were apparently Phil Ivey and the mysterious
Mantonas.
The action was principally on the
$300/$600 Pot Limit Omaha tables, where there were
reports that the top 10 pots alone added up to over $4
million.
Getting in on the action were Internet
aces like Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and David Benyamine,
who both took down pots worth over a half million
dollars apiece. As the night wore on, a staggering
twenty two pots, each worth over $200 000 were won or
lost over the tables, and 95 of the top 100 pots were
over $100 000 in value, with many more just short of
that figure.
MarketPulse notes particularly a
nine handed confrontation on one PLO table where every
seat was filled, delivering some outstanding full ring
poker action.
Initial reports indicate that the
big loser on the action was probably Phil Galfond, who
was understood to have been down a million on the night,
including one mammoth $555 000 pot which he lost to
Ilari Sahamies.
Predictably perhaps, Tom "durrrr"
Dwan and Sahamies were in the thick of it, and went on
to compete in some $500/$1 000 PLO heads-up action until
the early hours of the morning. Sahamies appeared to
have enoyed the better of the exchange, primarily due to
a win on a pot worth $426 000.
