SPIN3 LAUNCHES FIRST iPHONE REAL MONEY CASINO
12 September 2008
Three casino faves custom made to support iPhone
and iPod Touch handsets
Mobile gambling technology provider and Microgaming
associate Spin3 is set to exploit the user excitement
and demand surrounding Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch
handsets with the launch of the first commercially
available play-for-real casino games made especially for
the iPhone mobile devices.
Spin3 is developing its portfolio of mobile casino games
specifically for Apple's iPhone in an effort to provide
its operators with the necessary tools to capture the
lion's share of the mobile casino marke, the company
says in a statement this week.
Spin3's leading casino games, Blackjack and Tomb Raider,
are now available on the iPhone and the iPod touch
mobile digital products. In addition, the Major Millions
progressive slot game, which recently soared near the
GBP 1 million mark, will debut in the new iPhone format
later this month at the European i-Gaming Congress and
Expo (EiG) in Barcelona.
With razor sharp graphics and advanced in-game effects,
Spin3's games for use with the iPhone are practically on
par with online casino games, the company statement
claims. The enhanced mobile games feature touch screen
controls and users can play either horizontally or
vertically, as Spin3 supports the iPhone's flip-screen
feature.
The instant-play games are fully hosted and accessed via
the iPhone's web browser, eliminating the need to
download and install the games. Additionally, Spin3
operators will be able to customise personal messages
for their players when they log on to play.
Spin3 chief Matti Zinder says: "Sales of the iPhone have
been truly staggering, with one million sold only 74
days after launch and the iPhone 3G taking only three
days to reach this volume. Developing the first
commercially available play-for-real casino games
specifically for the iPhone is a great achievement,
reinforcing Spin3's commitment to set the benchmark for
mobile casino gaming.
"The iPhone is unlike any other handset in the market.
We have carefully tailored our games to meet the needs
of the iPhone's touch screen system as well as being
compatible with its flip-screen feature. This is a key
milestone which we consider the beginning of mobilising
the Internet. We are fully committed to developing new
technologies that lend to this trend and driving the
popularity of mobile gaming among the growing community
of iPhone users."
Spin3 will roll-out Blackjack, Tomb Raider and Major
Millions for use on the iPhone to its customers over the
coming months.
