RADMAN WINS RNC CHARITY EVENT
12 September 2008
100 players turn up for PPA's second tourney in
aid of Paralyzed Veterans of America
The Poker Players Alliance - American Gaming Association
charity poker tournament in aid of the Paralyzed
Veterans of America attracted 100 supporters in
Minneapolis mid-week despite the competing attraction of
Sarah Palin's vice presidential acceptance speech at the
Republican Party's National Convention in the same city.
Adam Radman, the programs and communications manager for
the Americans for Tax Reform organisation took the
honours in the end in an entertaining evening that
raised more than $70 000 for the charity, a worthy
sequel to a similar event timed to coincide with the
Democratic national convention which raised a further
$60 000 late August (see previous InfoPowa report).
Radman can be proud of his achievement against a top
rated field of poker pros that included luminaries such
as 2004 WSOP Main Event champ Greg Raymer, Victor Ramdin
from PokerStars and Chris Wallace of the coaching site
PokerXFactor.
