The Poker Stars.com World Cup of Poker IV championship
in Barcelona has been decided, with the United States
emerging as the top team and taking the main prize of
$100 000.
Greg Raymer captained the victorious Americans in a
final involving teams from the United States, Canada,
Romania and Iceland (see previous InfoPowa reports).
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Yanks, who
appeared to be in trouble in the early stages but
recovered well. The Canadian team headed by Daniel
Negreanu were the first to be bundled out of the final,
leaving the US team of Raymer, Tyler Netter, Randy
Principe, John Kenlan and Shaun Deeb to finish off the
remaining two competing teams.
Romania finished second, sharing a prize of $60 000
among the four team members. Iceland was third and
divvied up $40 000 whilst the Canadian four shared the
fourth place prize of $20 000.
