WORLD OPEN V POKER: FINAL TABLE SET
16 October 2009
Star-studded lineup
The final table is set at the Party Poker.com World Open
V poker spectacular, and it includes some big poker
names. The Matchroom Sport organised event has reached
its climax after a run that has lasted since Sunday 11
October.
For the first time, the final table
action takes place in the prestigious Palm Beach Casino
in the heart of Mayfair, London and spectators are
welcome to the rail.
Ambassador of Poker Mike
Sexton and newly signed Party Poker.com pro Bodo
Sbrzesny are in the final having succeeded in runner-up
heats, and will face pros like Andy Black, Phil Laak,
Jennifer Tilly and Luke Schwartz, along with Austrian
online qualifier Jan Veit.
A PartyPoker.com
spokesman said: “The final table line-up is fantastic
and is undoubtedly the strongest and likely to be the
most entertaining in the event’s history. We have a
poker legend, a poker asbo, a celebrity couple, the mad
former Premier League champion, an online qualifier and
a member of Party Poker.com’s new grassroots team.”
The main changes to the event this year are that the
starting stacks have been tripled, with the tables now
being eight seat in the heats and seven players in the
final. The buy-in is $10 000, with a total prize pool of
$480 000 – the winner scooping $250 000.
Television coverage will start on Five in the UK on
October 28th and will be presented by Kara Scott.
