Next GIGSE dates announced....and it's in Montreal again

The 10th Annual Global i-Gaming Summit and Expo (GIGSE) will be held June 3-5, 2008 at the Palais de Congrès in Montréal.

The theme for '08 will be "Position Yourself."

Explaining the new focus, Sue Schneider of Clarion Gaming said: "The regulatory environment around the world is getting clarified more every day. We're finding so many new companies and governments around the world that realize that this industry is
here to stay and are beginning to explore how they will integrate interactive gaming products into their offerings."

While the industry has seen its share of ups and downs over its short 12-year history, there's little argument that it's here to stay and its overall future is very bright. Schneider added, "The industry has looked for clarity over the years and now it's clear on a variety of continents around the world. People know the rules and are finding creative and lucrative ways to work within them."

The most established international event in this burgeoning industry continues to draw attendees from over 45 countries. Montréal has hosted this event over a number of years. It increasingly attracts both online gaming interests as well as terrestrial gaming companies from casino, sports betting, racing and lottery operations on a number of continents who are exploring their options. The lines between terrestrial and internet interest continue to blur, and the programming being planned for the 10th year of this event will reflect that blending.

The 2008 conference will highlight solutions for cultivating the inevitable convergence, with sessions focusing on building partnerships, investment opportunities, technology challenges, and how to prepare for the coming changes. With an emphasis on regulated gambling, the program will also examine future opportunities in jurisdictions like the United States and South Africa, where policymakers are considering initiatives to legalise certain forms of i-gaming.

Finally, there will be continued attention toward advanced topics and issues that are more pertinent to experienced i-gaming
professionals.

With the industry changing so dramatically in the past year, GIGSE is retooling like the many companies around the world that it serves. The plans for 2008 will include an increased emphasis on the conference component of the event because of the ever-changing nature of the industry.

In addition, the expo hall will be redesigned to increase networking opportunities. The presentation stage in the exhibition will offer continuous programming including short Solution Spotlights, 2-minute deal-making presentations and a variety of other dynamic programming additions.
