PLAYFISH OFFERS A NEW FACEBOOK POKER APPLICATION

Competition for Zynga?
The British social games developer Playfish Limited has
executed a beta launch of its new 'Poker Rivals'
application on the giant social networking site Facebook.
London-based Playfish was recently purchased for a
reported $400 million by eletronic gaming industry giant
Electronic Arts and is testing the waters with its new
product following the success of Texas Hold’em Poker on
Facebook by rival developer Zynga (see previous InfoPowa
reports).
Avatars feature in 'Poker Rivals' as
players adopt virtual identities to compete with one
another to win prizes or points enabling participants to
purchase virtual properties and other assets using their
winnings. The software includes a full tutorial.
