Online poker behemoth introduces new Grand Tournament guarantees


Poker Room.com has announced that it is to boost its Grand Tournament guaranteed prize pools starting in late December to $500 000, providing some stiff competition for the Mansion group, which introduced a similar level of guarantees recently (see previous InfoPowa report)

The Poker Room.com Grand Tournaments XX, XXI and XXII are scheduled to take place online on 28-30 December, 25-27 January and February 25-27 respectively and will all be enhanced by the new guarantees, which are expected to lift entries significantly.

Players can either buy-in at $1 000+$40 or qualify via online satellites held daily with entry fees as low at a dollar.

Grand Tournaments are played to the No-Limit Hold'em freezeout format with starting stacks of $10 000 and blind increases every 30 minutes. Due to their considerable popularity, the tournaments are flight events held over several days.
